Avast Antivirus - best free one available and as good as any other one that you have to buy - why pay more?

I'm guessing = either illegal or you're a secret beta tester for the world's nuclear weapons launch programs. Or it's just a part of the US government. Could go on forever here.

I use: AVG Free 8 coupled with Threatfire
I'm too lazy for a firewall and Vista's revamped firewall is good enough for my needs.

I use Computer Associates E-Trust Vet Anti-Virus. It's alright, but I'm glad I've got Ad-Aware to back it up with.

I use AVG 7.5, but I keep my Anti-Virus turned off because it's damn annoying when I it says ShW is a virus. So I turned off the Resident Shield.

I surf the net with the possibility of getting viruses due to never-active Anti-Virus programs :P

Although Avira is good, the bad thing about it is the ads, I understand that companies wish to promote their software but popping up ads every time when updating it is kinda like Adware...And not to mention annoying.
