More iPod lockscreen mod, need help!

Finished up another lockscreen for my iPod, but the fonts just doesn't do it.
Looking for a modern minimalistic design, if anyone can enlighten me what I should do with it, please do tell.

I think it would look better if, instead of just making the date / time (extremely) transparent, you tried to blend it with the picture. Something more along the lines of:

Still don't have that modern minimalistic look. Looks quite a bit better IMO than the terrible V1.
@ Bob: gonna give that a try, not sure I would like that font though. Also its not on the crappy iOS font bank.
