Now normally I'd be the type to bash Macs...but, I really gotta hand this one to them for the sheer insanity of how good a computer you can get. The Mac Pro.

The pricetag ain't pretty, but it definitely sounds worth the money.

You can get 4 750gb (3 terabytes total) hard drives, 2 3.0GHz Intel Xeon processors, an nVidia Quadro FX 4500, TWO 30 inch flat panel moniters, a keyboard, 16 gigs of RAM, a dual wireless connection (bluetooth and standard), a USB modem for land lines, Mac OS X server unlimited, Mac OS X 10.5, two 16x disc drives (which play damn near everything...except Blu-Ray), and almost anything else you can think of, and a warranty to cover all of it. Every single little piece.

That will set you back 18,440.95 American dollars. And that's not including handy extras like Parallels which lets you run Windows alongside OSX, Vista or XP with which to do so, and your new iPhone.

Shit.

Personally, I would rather get a new car. I can't see why anyone would need that powerful a machine.

$18,440!! for a computer!! thats is rediculous, and I'm sorry, but if anyone spends that much on a computer, they seriously need their head checking.

Just converted it to GBP and its £9,063.63, I could get a car, a new computer to my standards AND have money spare for one of those Macs.

Typical of apple to price gouge its customer in the name of the "Apple Experience". i have nothing against the Apple OS. i think its great but apple as a company and Steve job in particular annoy me to hell for their exclusivity shit. and the kicker for that computer. In India that thing would cost you 28000$ because the way apple price gouges its consumer. Rather get a PC thats as powerful, costs less and can put a Linux or windows Vista (Windows next server edition might be a good choice too) on it.

Now lets see what you can do with a PC in that price range.
SONY Blu-ray DVD Burner
$659.99

COOLER MASTER Stacker 830 Evolution Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case Real Power Pro 1000W Power Supply
$399.99

HITACHI Deskstar 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Driveicy x 4
$1,519.96
($379.99 each)

EVGA GeForce 8800Ultra 768MB GDDR3 PCI Express
$629.99

Intel Xeon 5160 Woodcrest 3.0GHz Socket x 2
$1,760.00
($880.00 each)

Microsoft Windows Vista 64-Bit Ultimate OEM
$199.99

WINTEC 8GB(2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR2 667 ECC Fully Buffered X 2
$3,999.98
($1,999.99 each)

Intel S5000PSLSAS Dual Socket 771 Motherboard
$579.99

Apple M9179LL/A Silver 30" 14ms Widescreen WUXGA Mac Display X 2
$3,349.98
($1,674.99 each)

Subtotal: $13,099.87

Now thats a kick ass machine thats more powerful then apple and you still have 5000 bucks to buy a lot more stuff.

Ya if you biuld a machine yourself and buy the parts individually you save alot more money then buying a premade computer.

you can probably get a branded PC with similar specs for around 15000 and it still less then the apple one.

I'm not familiar with the Greek alphabet so I type as it looks in English.

And Apple stuff is always overpriced as I heard.
