How to add waves to maps

A tool called WakEdit is needed. It must be located in the game folder where generals.exe can be found.
  • Open the map you want to add waves in WB. Create waypoint paths along the coastlines you want to have waves. Name the first waypoint CoastStartX, where X is the number of coastlines you wanna create, e.g. 1-7. The last waypoint must be named CoastEndX. The waypoint path is unnamed.

  • Use File > Dump map to file to create a txt file of your map. Then save map and exit WB. In the game folder you'll find the dumped file called <mapname>.map.txt.

  • Open WakEdit, click Import and choose the <mapname>.map.txt. Another window called Coastline: <number of found coastlines (waypoint paths)> pops up.

  • Choose typ and direction and click OK. Repeat this until all available coastlines are done.

  • Save as <mapname>.wak.

  • The wak file is saved in your game folder. Paste the file into your <name>map folder and note the name of the wak file and name of the map must be equal. That's all.

You may try few times 'til the created waves fit to the coastlines.
