I played it, It was good but the infantries are MEGA Annoying. They're hard to select and dies too darn quick and the maps are downright tiny.

For the infantry other than the marines you can click the icon above the unit to select him

MASSIVE FAIL: I dropped 6 law guys on a enemy base, when i tried to pick them up again since they got detected. They bunched up and got killed by ONE Marine. >_>

Edit: At TPBM. AI is not hard at all. Anyway, you can always make a map in WB. as long as you do the scripting for it.

The balance is fine. Marines are meant to be basis of your army you cannot survive without them.
These "THIS IS NOT ZERO HOUR!" comments from noobs tire me.

I'm not saying this is ZH, I'm just saying that infantries die to darn quick. Also, The M113 or other armoured units should NOT be entirely immune to small arms. Heck, If you watch war documentaries, You'll see basic infantries firing at tanks.

Chris. Shoot soft lead at a 2 inch steel plate, and see if it penetrates. While your at it why don't you shoot someone with a m16 and see how long it takes them to die.

He is using realism to explain why infantry should be able to fire at tanks, I am using it to explain why they should not.

I've been keeping a fair eye on this mod. I'm just happy that a public version is available now. At the moment I'm downloading it and I will try it out soon.

A few questions answered and other stuff:

You need $2000 worth of troops near the village to gain the additional funds (one Patton, LAW+Redeye+Medic+Grenadier+M60+Sniper=$2000 and that`s it).
Just because the LAW Marine has a LAW and an M16 that doesn`t mean he`s the Col.Burton of V|GO with a kickass texture & model, the standard Marine IS the best of them all. Except those long range firing units and stealth ones (M60, Grenadier, Sniper, Green Beret, Marine Force Recon).
Take an M16 and fire at a Patton, how would that make you feel? The LAW Marine and Grenadier are there for heavy armoured support.
Tanks WILL be destroyed if you don`t have infantry backing them up.
The AI is a bitch at the begining, but it will be much more easier if you control the villages and take the fight to him.
The villages don`t show that $200 like the Oil Derricks did in ZH.

Please remember: V|GO=/=ZH.

I'd hope it'd be possible for units to gain veterancy. Or else it's useless to me...veterancy makes all the difference.

Couldn't agree more. Also, Infantries shouldn't die in just two bloody shots of a rifle, Make it three or four shots before they actually fire.

My guess is they can't get veterancy because some of the units (the M60 and Sniper) have the ability to go prone (this is the same as the AT gun in ShockWave) and because of the "deploy" logic used, you can see the self destruct bug happening (promote an AT gun and you'll see).
