Is it possible to get unicode to work in things it's not normally used in? (IE, the Windows XP desktop icon labels)

??? I have a file with a tibetan name and it shows up fine. I have no idea what problem you are referring to.

If you're having trouble getting unicode characters to display in Windows and/or any Microsoft application, you don't have the necessary language files properly installed. Websites are a little more complicated, you have to choose the correct encoding, which doesn't always work automatically.
