Seriously this becomes just too much! If it was in Iran I should say its ok since this country ruled by Sharia, but in a country which talking about Democracy, I just can't accept it, reason to ban is : Someone insulted founder of Republic of Turkey: Atatürk, well I don't say I like those who do it but banning the site to Turkish people is just odd, we can't see it but everyone else can. We can't access site so they ban the site to us not to those who do it.

Sorry to hear that, mate. They ban the entire site because someone insulted Atatürk? I do understand that some people in Turkey might consider him a hero but in a country that calls itself democratic, this is a heavy violation of one of the very basic ideals of western democracy which is freedom of speech. How stupid is this? What's next? Will France ban Youtube because some bloke made fun of Charles de Gaulle? Bollocks.

This reminds me of my country China banned YouTube>_> though I hear that theres talks about it getting unbanned.

Only part of China where YouTube is unbanned is Taiwan,Hong Kong and Tibet.

How do they do it? Is it DNS-based (i.e. you can type the IP in to circumvent the ban)?

I don't think this have an impact on our people since most of the peoples here don't want to get into membership as thought :loels:

But still its not logical to ban a site like this, if it were a site entirely build to insult I should say anyways it maybe ok but this site just too different, a community where there is every kind of person, from terrorist to saints ( well I don't know if the saint is the correct word but I think you got what I meant :loels: )

Why would anyone make fun of Turkey? The Ottoman Empire did plenty of good things for the world.

Yep.

Wtf. It actually makes me sick that a country like Turkey, who I thought was quite like Europe and North America, could ban a site.

What if they try to do it here?

Even the most radical followers of Atatürk does not support that ban , since banning such thing itself againist the teachings of him. Complete retardness , still sad that site banned again :(
