Bed-side Broadway (A Night Under the Covers)

I give in to this masquerade
I'm getting tired of
footing the bill for this failed attempt
Don't let me fall on stage
I fear their laughter
because their eyes
can pierce my soul
and I can't see them

I'm caving in
to a plastic remedy
that I said I would hate (forever)

Cover my face
with the warmth of your hand
The freckles on my cheek
are crying for attention
They want to feel your fingers
race across my skin

I'm caving in
to a dreaded plastic dream
falling fast
and catching up

I'd like to say
I'm immune to this feeling
but I'd belying to myself
I've been marked
to live a life
breathing out a dying wish

Please tell me (my dear)
That you'll love me
when I'm this low
Please tell me
I have nothing to fear (tonight)

This plastic haven
is only what I make of it
................come closer
......................Your eyes are beautiful tonight

Do you

Think there
Are ...
Your day
Chance and joy
On lush
Edge of dream
Laying just
Enjoying your
Tries
To climb on it
Like 8bit hero
Climb ,crouch
Jump
Never tired
Never out of sleep
Hunger...
Shiny red boots
And smile
Run ,jump
Run ,jump
Run ,jump
Till you dust
Do it !
Now...

Squirrel

I saw a squirrel in its natural habitat:
the city, eating some discarded
burger and fries. "You'll get fat!"
I told it, it reacted, surprise it recorded,
who dare speak to it like that?

Obese squirrel, fat squirrel, chubby, round as a cat.
"Fop off!" at me it shouted
Red, I swung my baseball bat,
by no weighty animal should I be insulted.
I wear squirrel as a hat.

Nooka's, while NanSolo's is funnier I cannot get it to flow properly when reading it.

Nansolo's was funny, and although it doesn't technically make sense it reads like quite a few poems I used to have to read for english. It uses a certain style of writing but I can't remember the name of it. Nukers was excellent and also made good use of *Another english term I can't remember*. And Dauth's was quite close to the truth. I should read this stuff more often, we obviously have some real talent on this forum. However my vote goes to Nuker.

Dauth's limerick garners my vote. While it is meant to be a satirical look into the upper echelons of the forum rank, there be truth to them there words.

Cheers to all who voted. Posted Image
