Releasing on 28th of October for America and 31th for Europe and Australia (Bethesda took real drug names out and they lowered the rating. More info).

Will you be buying it?

It looks like a damn good game to me, i trust Bethesda to make it good but I'm worried (Even tho i haven't play the originals much) it won't
be a game the fans of the originals will enjoy. Either way i will still enjoy it.

I already pre-ordered but i would like to see other peoples views on the game.
And for people who don't know what it is, look at this link.

Definately buying it.

Finally a game I want that isen't loaded with DRM crap :D ... The last 3 games I wanted to buy were all infected with the satanic version of SecuROM, making them completely unattractive to me :pimp: .

Reviews so far are all in the low 90s, but the 'hardcore' fallout community have already decided it's going to be horrible purely because it's not turn based.

Only the combat is turn based, everything else is in Real Time.

Much as the setting looks extremely impressive, as does the attention lavished on the game, backstory and art design, in addition to constant positive previews and reviews, I don't imagine I'll be getting it. The gore factor is gratuitous and uneccessary, and while that may be 'part of the fun' it simply isn't everyone's cup of tea, and certainly not mine. I don't imagine anyone around me would especially approve of my getting it even if I was so inclined either. I also haven't played the original and thus have no particular brand loyalty to Bethseda or vested intellectual interest in seeing the story develop.
Edit - typo

Backstory isn't all that good actually. They have not explained how the Brotherhood of Steel ended up on the East Coast or why there are Super Mutants, both of which were localized on the West Coast.

That's why you play the game?

Far as the gore factor, it was always gratuitous in the previous games. Anyone remember Bloody Mess? You killed someone with a hammer with that perk and you'd quite literally tear them in two.

I am aware that the gore factor was always there through various preview videos, but that doesn't make me like it any more. I sometimes have difficulty disassociating things from reality (or at least my subconscious does - it seems to think it's fun to try and simulate whatever negative effect I witness) so it's not something I tolerate in almost any degree.
