The staff are undertaking a review of the resources available to the modding community here on FS atm and one outcome of the discussions is that our tutorial list could use some new content, but also would benefit from [some/more] external links. This subforum houses all of our tutorials and links to outside resources, however we are sure that more exist in other parts of the ether that is the internet that would be of use to both seasoned modders and those starting out alike. So our plan is to not only build up as comprehensive a list of these as we can, but also to store the raw components of these tutorials in the event that domains aren't renewed, links become dead (credit and permission allowing) or other communities prune their FTPs, so they are kept alive for the community.

In order to make this task both easier on the staff and cover as many as possible it would help greatly if all you modders out there would let us know the tutorials you've used and seen so we can then run off and collect as many as we can.

So link away please, it's all for a good cause after all! :sly:

Thanks chaps, they'll be scoured through as well.

So far we have 11 (pretty well known) separate sites that we'll be trawling through. If anyone has specific tutorials as well they would be helpful. Moddeling or skinning ones would also be helpful, we aren't only collecting coding/mapping tutorials.

I've been scouring around if there's a mirror of Screamingcricket's old tutorials but I've sadly found nothing. Archive.org turns up blank, Google has no cache.

We might have to actually talk directly to Screaming in order to get that one back from nothingness. Thanks for trying anyway. His were ones I have been worried about tbh.

There are some tutorials over GRANS, PPM and over CnC Guild, SDI.

I've been planning to write a somewhat advanced coding tutorial for Red Alert 3 if that will help any.

I'll publish it here if you want. Once I am finished that is.

Please do. We will be working our way through all the CnC titles eventually. Not 100% one the older titles, but I see no reason why not. RA3 ones would be good as well.

Sleipnir's Stuff seems to be working again, although a bit slowly.

This is the link for the Generals section of their knowledge base, which has quite a few tutorials in in:

Seems all the GenDev links give a 404. Can anyone copy?

They work fine, but you have to scroll down. That 404 is from Revora's old NetBar and whoever runs gendev is probably too lazy to fix it or is blissfully unaware.
