Oh hell yes, Batman Arkham City has been announced. It's a sequel to Batman Arkham Asylum and i can't wait because AA was awesome.

Game Info:

Quote

Developed by Rocksteady Studios, Batman: Arkham City builds upon the intense, aospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, sending players soaring into Arkham City, the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds. Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, this highly anticipated sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight.

Anyone else excited for this game? If not, shame on you, go play AA to see what you missed :)

Is there any way we can pool our money together, give them a cash injection, and get it out faster? This is on my 'must-but-even-though-I-won't-have-the-money' list :P

Arkham Asylum - the Joker voice = a very good game.

AA + Mark Hamill = absolute fucking win. PERIOD. The man is a genius.

Sadly, Hamill has stated that this will be his last time playing Joker :(

He said the same with Arkham Asylum though.

Meh. Grimdark, generic gunmetal grey setting + Batman = Do not want.

I'm agreed with Ion here, looks bloody good. Do want to take on SWAT teams etc |8

Interesting thing to note is the fact that the villain is Hugo Strange, as that is exactly the same bad guy that people are rumouring to be in the third and final Batman film. That would be too much of a coincidence, wouldn't it?

Larger than AA.

Interesting news, AC is going to be five times larger than AA. Is that a good thing? It might mean that they skimp on overall quality, i hope thats not the case.

I have faith, one of my main gripes these days with games is they are just to damn bloody short. Thats why I played AA over 8 or so play sessions, so I didn't just burn through it in one day.

I don't get why the "5 times larger" is all over the place like it's the newest info, it was explained in an interview several months ago.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear that, games keep getting shorter and shorter.

Games get shorter because graphics get better and production costs skyrocket. I'm sure every game company would make longer games if it was financially viable. This also ways on public expectation of a game not taking five years to develop and marketing and other crap which comes which a successful industry. I felt AA was a near perfect game, it wasn't too long so it didn't get repetitive, the characters were interesting and the locations were diverse, the only bit that was a let down for me was the end boss, i felt they could of done so much more with that.

Unless they add something different and creative (which they will, but i don't know how good it will be) its just going to be AA in a new location, which no doubt going to be a disappointment. I also really hope that Warner Brothers (they bought the rights to a squeal shortly after the success of AA) isn't forcing an unrealistic deadline on Rocksteady Studios.

So many things are pressuring this developer to get another great game released. I guess they surprised everyone with AA, i hope they can do it again.

Wow... Looks like it'll have a similar feel to AA but much more substance. I liked AA but yeah it was too short, although that being said, I couldn't playing it from start to finish. Favourite being the part where scarecrow takes over....

And yes, the new harley quinn is hawt. I thought so in AA but the creepy costume and irritating squeaky voice kinda ruined it for me :(
Hopefully the new look comes with a better voice. The same could be said for many of the characters in AA. Poison Ivy, Croc and Riddler were the only ones I was happy with..
