Indeed it is, there are too much unnecessary stuff on unit models which make them look that way.

exactly. Generals should have been the most realistic/serious universe, and now it's a joke as well -.-

Felt like I was watching a trailer for Advance Wars on the old GBA. Had a bunch of quirky looking Generals :o

How can you say it's horrible, when they've clearly put so much effort into making it look so bland and generic? |:

Also... What's with everything exploding when you get within 10 feet of it? D:

In my opinion Zero Hour is a better looking game, and that's sad given the decade gap. On a technical level it is superior but who cares? there is just nothing here art wise. This is as bland and generic as they come, and I would have liked to see them utilize that extra power with things like god rays and wind particle effects instead of additional polygons in which you can just barely see.

Also, I miss cloud shadows.

Buildings disappear into nonexistence when they explode, yea thats too much to improve a game in a decade...

You can tell how bad of an RTS engine Frostbite is when you look at how abysmal the pathfinding is.

Or how structures explode and disappear when a tank rolls over them but the trees don't.

The long awaited next installment is shaping up to be a large POS.

So even the superheavy tanks can't run over a bus. Well, how impressive. When was this alpha?

What bothers me the most is what I can see from the gameplay : Tiberian Sun-ish construction with grids and having to place buildings close to a power plant ._.

And that UI looks as if it was made under paint, seriously...

Who needs pathfinding when the units are clipping anyway? 8|

From what I heard, it started in May-ish, but they give very few alpha keys, and only to ass lickers who enjoyed C&C4.
It should become an open beta in September if they stick to their schedule...

Looking at the footage, most of all I'm thinking why I should go Gens2 over the original. I don't even think it LOOKS better.

So bland and unappealing, definitely not something I'd want to waste my time on.

Actually, I just got an alpha key, but I never even downloaded C&C4, and I have no access to a PC at this point in time (perhaps that's why) anyway so I can't tell you just how bad it is either :xD:

Those units appear to be using generic collision boxes, no proper collision yet. I like the looks of it actually, reminds me a lot of CCG, which is a good thing.
