I've had a fiddle :sly:

Wasn't Dobby, but I have no idea why this problem has just occurred. If it happens again (as it has happened to me lots of times in the last 2 days) I'll fiddle some more 8D

Does your missus know? :sly:

Haven't had the same error crop up in Chrome, but I have no had Internal Server Error 500 pop up a couple of times in the last few minutes, not sure if that is the fiddling or not :stickattack:

The issue seems to be with a query running out of memory in the SQLdb php script. Disabling gzip in the forum software fixed the compression errors, but caused other issues. I have enabled gzip again and will be investigating a fix for the other problem today. If I can't find the solution Bob will have to take over at the weekend as I am OOF as of 5 tonight.

The SQL database is running out of memory attempting to run a query less than half way through a php script. In order to narrow down the cause, we have temporarily locked LPTPW, to see if the problem is in anyway linked to the size of the db table that it has created.

If it this isn't the issue we will reopen it. Feel free to spam a new topic till then. We can merge it later.

Still seeing a few problems cropping up btw guys. If I remember correctly from a while back with regard to LPTPW, even though it is of a ridiculous length, the relative size and memory requirements are still pretty tiny in comparison to most other SQL databases?

There does indeed seem to be large databases out there, but they are likely using different forum and server settings.

I am going to have a play 'round with increasing performance today, so if you notice things changing/breaking/disappearing, it's likely because of me.

To start with, I have disabled the side panels on the index.

EDIT: Also, apologies guys, but I borked Fallout City, it should hopefully be back up tonight.

I do believe I've stumbled upon an issue, whether caused by you guys or not - when trying to add an emoticon to a post from the Quick reply box, you get the mini preview box beneath your post. If you click show all, however, it redirects back to the homepage - I'm not sure whether this is Bob or an internal redirect gone squiffy?

I think it's a 'you' problem, works fine here. 8|

Which skin are you using?

Blue skin, now working fine, possible it was just a glitch on my end by the looks of things.
