Racing games have been getting very same-y as of late.

Will probably pick up Wreckfast at some point, now that's a full, released game. The tech demo was fun (back when it was Next Car Game) and seems like it is now just the destruction derby mode from Grid, but a full game.

I mean, it is a racing game, what else can you do to it!? Point of it is to drive a car and reach to the finish line faster than the other cars, really limits the creativity

There's still a huge variety of racing games, even excluding combat racers. Unfortunately, the only games being made at the moment are sims (and Miami Street *shudders*)

You could say that about a lot of genres. There are lots of RTS/FPS games being released but they're all a bit naff.
