It's actually got really nice controls. Use the analogue stick to move the head of the snake, use X (on a DS4) to move the head up. Combing the 2 you can do quite a bit of complex movement to wrap around/up things.
It takes a little getting used to, but really satisfying when you get to grips with it. Haven't played anything like it.

Try Monster Hunter, controls are satisfying as fuck once you get used to it. Especially using a Great Sword
