Hai Guys.
I just recently downloaded sketchup and have been building a few things, so this thread is so I can share my creations with the community!
-models deleted.
Now, I have a few questions:
1. How do you render things in sketchup, and
2. How do I find the polycount of my models?
Questions, Comments and general tips are welcome.
EDIT:
Here is a list of Future Content. If one of these ideas sounds more interesting to you, then post in this thread (or PM me) and I will use that as my next project.

Teh Listorz:
Small Arms:
1. Shoulder-mounted vulcan revisited. (consider the first version to be a prototype.) (Begun work- 20/25%complete.)
2. Assault rifle with grenade launcher.
3. Anti-materiel rifle.
4. Sniper rifle.
5. Heavy machine gun.
6. Maybe a pistol.
Aircraft:
7. Interceptor aircraft. (two variants; one with ruddervators (similar to the Wyvern in Ace Combat), the other with a more traditional tail design.) (Note- this is the one I posted. I didn't like the way it was going, so I decided to restart the whole thing from scratch.)
8. Scramjet powered interceptor.
9. Heavy bomber aircraft. (loosely inspired by the Suzuki quadracer, somehow. Think of the light as the cockpit and you kinda see where I'm going with it )
10. Airships. (Hovering Hresvelgrs, more guns. FFFFFFFFFFF-) (One currently in the works-20/25% complete.)
11. super-heavy aerial carrier. (Similiar to the XB-0 XB-0 Hresvelgr from Ace Combat 0.)
12. Helicoptor gunship.
13. helicopter gunship/transport. (like the hind, with coaxial rotors.) (Working. 70-75% complete.)
Ships:
14. Invincible MK.1 (Working-60/65% complete.)
15. Invincible Mk.2
16. Invincible Mk.3
Ground Vehicles:
17. APC re-visited. (this will be what the APC was originally intended to look like, but due to my inexperience some things didn't work, so I had to compromise.) (Working. 20-25% complete.)
18. Urban Warfare Tank.
19. Self-propelled artillery.
20. Light AA vehicle.
21. MLRS.
22. Heavy AA/railgun artillery. (Begun work. 30-35% complete.)
23. Super-heavy Tank. (based on the Heavy AA/arty platform.)
24. Light recon vehicle. (think warthog meets Jeep Hurricane concept.)
25. IFV.
26. Possibly some logistics vehicles (trucks, etc.)
Mechs/other:
27. Light mech. (2-4 autocannons, some small arms.)
28. Medium mech. (cannons, missiles, vulcans, etc.)
29. Super-heavy mech. (I'll have the special please, with a side of ASSRAPE.)
30. A couple of Cars. (in B4 ZOMG no gunz LOLOLOLOL.) (One currently in the works-40/45% complete.)

first of all, those models look very nice for a first time i like the gun alot.
now to answer your questions: if you want to know your polycount, disable edges in view>edge style>display edges, profiles. then select your whole model with ctrl-a and right-click. from the dropdown menu choose entity info, then a small window will open telling you you have X faces, faces being poly's.
rendering in sketchup is impossible unless you want to spend mony on it (as far as i know that is). if you have sketchup pro you can easily export to 3DS and render with 3DS max or any other decent modelling program. however, you can export your model in sketchup to an image, this will make it look much nicer but it still wont have soft shadows or such fancy things. just hit file>export>2D graphic then choose .PNG and your done. you can still toy around with the edge styles and colours/textures to make the "render" look nicer. hope it helped

Thanks for the help.
I'll post some proper pictures when I actually *finish* one of the models.
So far the gun is a little over 2000 polys.

Need more than 1 gun to make a mod though.

Well, I am helping a 2142 Mod called ER (Extreme Realism) and we're trying to think of a 3rd weapon for Engineer (AA was merged with Rocket Launcher) and this really fits our needs.
Would you be interested in letting us use your concept/Model?
If not that's fine, but I figured I should ask.

I'm gonna say no atm, but I may think about it.
Camille 30 Jul 2008
doesn't mean it can't look good still
that gun looks great if somewhat impractical Dooms.

Waris 30 Jul 2008
The reason I'm asking that is because the scope looked like it is placed above head level

So, got a little update for you guys :
It's a long-range high-speed interceptor, and is still WIP. It still lacks the exhaust nozzles and weapons, and theres a few areas that I want to go more detailed on, but I figured I'd post this anyway.
The APC I was working on shouldn't take much longer, but I'm working on 2 different variants and won't show them till they are both complete.
Questions, comments and critics welcome.

I got a little impatient.
Unnamed APC (I really should give all my projects names... Meh, later.)
Crewed by two, seats twelve.
The turret on the top holds one .50 cal MG and a 40mm grenade launcher, as well as sixteen smoke grenade launchers around the base.
The periscope turret right above the windows is armed with a LMG to give the driver something to play with.
I will be making another version when this is done; it will be more like an IFV with a much reduced carrying capacity. The turret on top will be replaced with a completely enclosed one with much more firepower (think LAV-IIIish) and some mortars in the back; possibly reactive armour too.
Questions, comments, critics all welcome (please ) .

I really liked the way you did with the Gattling, it really looks like one of these weapons from FPS games ( which means its so nice )

Thanks for the posts guys.
Is there anything that you think should be changed or don't like? Any suggestions or questions? If anything just rubs you the wrong way, please, don't be afraid to post it.

oops.
@ soul
Thanks! And about the gat, I've been planning to go back to it and do some touch ups, It didn't really work out as I had originally envisioned it.
Something to look forward too.
EDIT: Just checked the poly count on the (now fixed)APC- 10060 faces.
