My questions:

2) How do i put my models on general?? (i know how to use the code but i dont know how to import the models)
3)Anyone liked my models???

I think you can skin models in Gmax by using the RENX plug in but Im not sure
becuase I don't use Gmax. Don't know about putting it in-game.
The last model is fine for a beginner. I will advise you to learn the capabilities
of the sofware, becuase there many good tools in there.
The 2th looks like it made out of paper, it has no volume, try to use
"champer" tool on the edges and give it some volume. The last is OK but
have very sharp lines on some places, and it made up of several meshes,
not one like it should be, it's not good for the realism and aesthetics of the model.
Of the three I liked the 3th more.

That's atlest a 2000+ polys. the engines alone look like to be 400 each.

Also try this tutorial for skinning and boning

http://killasmods.gamemod.net/

Its simple and since you know how to use Gmax it becomes even easier.

for adding a model in game check this page out

http://sdi.gamemod.n.../newunitsbasics

this will allow you to use your unit ingame but the computer wont use.

Also try to limit the number of poly count to less then 700 to 800 for tanks and aircraft's.

thanks for your advice. i'l check the links when i've got some time. An other question : how can i count the polys????

AKA_Slayer's Photo AKA_Slayer 06 Nov 2005

There should be a tool named "polygon counter" in one of the tabs.
You probably used "mesh smooth" on the plane which give it a smooth effect and
look. Its a great tool :)
I reccomend you to check also "symetry", this tool will make sure your model
is the same on both sides, it's great for beginners.

Sir, I envy you...

I tried modeling once, sure I could make basic shapes but a tank was way too much for me...

Those, are just frigging awesome, especially the tank...

Dear sweet mother of Jesus in heaven where peopl play ping-pong even though it sucks.

Those models are awesome, literal 'Hunter' quality, but more fluent and smooth.

no offense on the "fluent and smooth" models that are "hunter quality"

no they are certainly not

again no offense

but you are way overusing the smooth function... it adds lots of polies and in some cases really screws up the model...

it doesnt look so overused on recent ones though

No wonder, 'smooth' button, ha!ha!

Your tanks design have a good start, I can see that but they are not consistent,
on some areas they have a solid shape to them and on some their shape is
curvey. I advise you to try modeling real tanks with blueprints first to get the
basic concept of tanks and then try designs of your one, by doing that the experience
you will get with the software is priceless, and I'm saying it from personal experience.
I hope you will continue modeling, keep it up :)

I NEVER SAY THAT MY MODELS ARE HUNTER QUALITY!!! NOT EVEN NEAR! I KNOW THAT I NEED A LOT OF WORK AND PRACTICE!!! I'm offended that you THOUGHT that I say that my models are that good as hunter (someone else did and i corect him)
I used alot the smooth button on my first models but now i know WHEN i have to use it, thats why my last models are less then 1k polys :D
Quote

Prophet of the Pimps's Photo Prophet of the Pimps 18 Nov 2005

smooth doesnt affect poly count.
Quote

S@M's Photo S@M 18 Nov 2005

meshsmooth efects poly number (at least at g-max) im sure on this one :)
Quote

Whitey's Photo Whitey 18 Nov 2005

i wasnt quoting you :)

that part was directed at the other guy

and hunter isnt the top quality modeller.................... *looks at the goofed guy who runs this forum*

but hey those are just opinions

yes the tanks are not consistent with smooth/roughness i must agree there.
