Stand alone

There's a possability, they we're going to put SI onto a Open-Source engine, so that it's stand alone.
At the moment, we're looking into the Spring project.

If you end up going that route, I hope it works out for you. That would actually be pretty cool.

Spring is very flexible, back in the days when I played TASpring, lag was minimal, even on the high detail settings (this was on my 933mhz).

It looks like a great engine barring two things:
Particlesystems (Especially missile exhausts) look way cheesy.
There don't appear to be any shadows.
Now I wouldn't know if these are both changeable, but it would be pretty sad to not see them.

I second Machiari. This would indeed be an awesome idea if you do go with it. You already have much done. Good luck if you do end up going that way.

Also, if you are wondering how the Spring engine looks, take a look at this screenshot, one of the best there is.

Ah yes, good old Spring. A fun game and an accurate remake of TA. I fully support this notion. Also there will be Deformable terrain and an easy way to implement ships.

It ain't dead if that's what your thinking, Slye's just busy with other things atm and will get back to this when he can.

We're still looking at other game engines
ANd it's a Possability(but not definate), that it might end up on C&C3
