Zero Hour command line options.

Alias's Photo Alias 20 Apr 2007

These are the command line options for Zero Hour. In order to use these, you must place the command after the "target" area in the Zero Hour Shortcut options. You'll need to be patched to 1.04 (Which I believe all of us are...) to use the majority of these commands.

-win
This will run Zero Hour in a window. The size of the window is dependant of the resolution the game is set to run at.

-quickstart
This will run Zero Hour without showing the Intro movies, or using a shellmap.

-noshellmap
This will run Zero Hour without a shellmap, but still show the Intro movies.

-mod
This will run a specific mod from "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data", i.e., -mod 0SW93.big.

-nointro
Pretty much self explanatory.

-nofpslimit
The game will not limit the FPS, therefore running the game at highway speed! This may make the game a bit jumpy. (Assuming you have a good computer)

Example:

This will run the game in a window.

---
You can also use multiple commands at a time, i.e. "-win -quickstart". All you have to do is separate by a space.
Hope this helps. :dope:
Also, if I missed a Command, or you have any questions, please notify me.

-noshaders
ZH Will run without any shaders like those water ripple shit etc,

-scriptDebug
Runs the script debugger (requires the DebugWindow.dll)

-particleEdit
Runs the Particle Editor (requires the ParticleEditor.dll).
NOTE:
THIS COMMAND DOESN'T PROPERLY WORK WITH ZH ANYMORE.
But will still work with vanilla Generals.

-fullscreen
Runs ZH in full screen...

-fullVersion
Purpose Unknown.

-xres
Purposes Unknown.
-yres
Ditto.

@Alias: The -nointro command line doesn't exist in ZH anymore....but does the command line still works?!

Chris, -xres and -yres can be used to specify custom resolutions.

Ah, okay didn't know all of them.
My PC causes lag with BN sometimes.
Can I tell him not to use these effects?

UPDATE:

Hawkeye and I have recently discovered some things about the -mod command

1. You can use -mod to force renamed bigs to work
2. If you add a directory before the name of the .big, it will use that directory instead of My Documents.

example:

-mod "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour\0Gen_X_Old.fig"

That's great, that means more mods can be easily installed at the same time :P
