The Vaughan Shop
Vaughan 19 May 2007
Hello Ladies and Gents, I know I'm not exactly well-known around here, but my sole purpose in this forum that is E-Studios is Graphical work, so, I present to you:
The Vaughan Shop
Q: What is "The Vaughan Shop"?
A: The Vaughan Shop is the place where I, Vaughan, take Graphics Requests (Not limited to Signatures), show off my work, take advice from other Experts, and simply have a good time.
Q: What makes you any different?
A: My graphics are unique, I believe, as I use a horribly outdated version of Adobe PSE 2.0, maxing it to the extreme to give you visually pleasing effects and graphics. Most of my signatures will have a specified Color, and I also do Theme Sets. One more thing, I will require no credits, meaning no, "Made by XXX" below the signatures I make for you, I believe this takes away from the signatures, and the overall quality.
Q: What is a "Theme Set"?
A: A Theme Set is a collection of graphics matching one another that may or may not include Userbars. A typcial Theme Set would be a Signature and an Avatar.
Q: Ok, fine, show me your stuff.
A:
White
Blue
Green
Dark
I will post my top 7 sets here, due to image restrictions. You can see my complete portfolio here.
And remember, your name could be on any one of the signatures above, just ask, no credit required!
Thanks for taking the time to look, Hope you all enjoy!
P.S.: Wow, I'm comic-happy.
~V.

most of your avatars are just bits from the sig,
i would advise making 'sets' more like the 'dark' one.
where they have the same theme but are different,
good work tho

Your signatures appeal to me more than the ones made by Sic or No-Skillz because there is less background noise and are far more smoother.
I see alot of potential here

I find "background noise" as you call it makes a Sig more interesting to look at. I suppose everyone's entitled to their own opinions though.
It's a shame you have an outdated PS. However these Sigs are quite quality considering. Good luck with your "shop". =P

Hehe, thanks to everyone!
Yeah, I know, I wish I could get CS2 or something, but meh, it's a tad pricy.. Unless you.. "download" it, but I'm not that kind of guy.
And I know I have a problem here with Avatars being basic cut-outs of the sig, but I sorta like it that way. My main goal for Signatures is a major focal point, with the background just a smooth "mood-giving" type of thing.
Thanks again,
~V.

Well, I wish you the best of luck and hope that some day you attain the mythical CS2.

I'm not sure if double-posting is looked down upon around here or not, (I've been banned on other forums for a double-post before, but I didn't see anything about it in the rules here, so)
I added new stuff.

We prefer people to sue the edit button but in you're own thread its more tolerated.
On a topic related note, would you make something in your style for me, using a combination of Silver and Obsidian?
My Thanks

@ Dauth
Alright, I'll keep that in mind.
And could you be a bit more specific?
There are hundreds of different "Silver" and "Obsidian"'s, like Silver the Hedgehog, or Obisidan in comics, or perhaps you just meant a Silver/Obsidian color theme? I'm really not sure, but I hate getting a signature wrong.
@ The Dr.
Thanks, I like yours too.

I definately like what I see, and you even have themes. That's quite nice, and is a unique way for you to seperate yourself from others. That, I like.
Best of luck to you as you continue to expand your shop and create new sigs. Hopefully you'll have a wide range of sigs and styles that'll attract "customers" for you.
My best,
Nuker

Thanks for the kind words, Nuker, I'm glad that I'm not just an oddball in a sea of squares.
And, I have just created tonight, probably my best signature ever.
It's my current.

May I be the first to commend you on a job well done. The background, the text effect(s), and the render all blend perfectly.
However, I think it would have been a bit better if you had chosen another style of render for your avatar. I'm beginning to understand the whole "use an avatar that has nothing to do with one's sig" thing. I won't argue and say your avvie isn't good, because it is very cool, but I just think you could do with another render form a different comic, like maybe use Venom for instance.
My best,
Nuker

I mean a coloured theme set, using a combintaion of silver and obsidian, i like your style of no-nonsense sigs. I figured that out just before i went to bed last night, sorry for the confusion.
Something cold and crisp, is another way of putting what i'd like.

@ Nuker
Thanks, I know I have a serious problem of the Avatars being too copy-ish, but I would never mix Venom and Batman! Blasphemy!
Nah just kidding, but it's so hard to find a render that has the same style/feel/theme, but different, you know? I could probably just do something with the Batman insignia, that might work, but I'll try to work on it, as Avatars seem my major weak-point right now.
My goal for a Signature/Avatar combination would be that of E.V.E's signature and Avatar, same thing, different angle/pose.
@ Dauth
Ah, now I get you.
Is there any render you'd like specifically? Or just a simple signature, no comic-book characters or anything.
~V.
EDIT: Updated the "New Goblin" set with the perfect Avatar to replace the old one.

very nice signatures... my favourites are the splinter cell and batman signatures... keep up the great work

Dauth,
Here's a horribly rough draft, just to see if I'm getting the right idea.
Is this sorta what you were thinking theme-wise?
EDIT: Fixed it up, gave it some more color.

Beautiful, i like the style a lot, especially the fade in the top left and bottom right of the first version.
Considering the theme could i get an avvy made up just of the central spiral effect?

Lemme know if you want anything at all different.
