Beyond a rather simple/uninteresting front, that is one very excellent model. Your skills are much improved Azzkikr. Nice work.

Turret size was fine imo. What you need to do is think of something more interesting to do with the front. It's just a wedge atm.

something i modelled, called the T-100. excuse the slight mistake. tried making it as realistic as possible, with ARENA on it

Looks awesome although a few areas could do with less details, a few with more

It's essentially the same chasis as the previous models albeit it with some really minor changes. I still think the front of the tank isn't very good as it's no different from the previous 2 and you've made no changes to it since I made those comments.

better wiz?

It wasn't so much that it needed more detail (although what you have added is good), but that the shape of it doesn't fit very well with the rest of the tank design, specifically the front of the thread covers. I think you need to round it off as it is quite angled.

Yea I agree, nice indeed. Does Maya have a smooth faces option though? Because the supposedly curved places like the front part of the tread cover looks like it is made up of several plates.
Quote

AZZKIKR's Photo AZZKIKR 26 Jun 2010

yup, but it smooths all. the entire model is smoothed. but thats wat i'm aware of only
Quote

Pav:3d's Photo Pav:3d 26 Jun 2010

There should be an option to just smooth certain areas, IE selecting the faces first then applying the smooth. At least thats what you can do in max

Nice art here mate!

maya can use smoothing per subobject, polygon or edge, select an edge you want either smooth or hardened and use the tool you would otherwise use on the whole object :P

nice one Azzkikr :read:

You really need to work on rendering, find a mental ray rendering tutorial
Quote

AZZKIKR's Photo AZZKIKR 28 Jun 2010

well, this was what i learned in school. using ambient occlusion
Quote

pirate's Photo pirate 28 Jun 2010

I suggest increasing the quality settings, where it will take much longer, but get a much nicer result, also increase the amount of rays mental ray uses for the ambient occlusion :P

may i ask how do i do that? as my maya cant be used at home, so i am not at the liberty to fully explore it...
