Experiments in Pixelation

In my boredom I had the idea to start making a series of wallpapers using some characters I designed for what was going to be a webcomic. Wallpaper number 1 is in the style of a certain meme on the forum:
The idea was to get a few words and do an image relating to this word (IE. Science! has a guy in a lab coat.) I'm all for ideas of what to do next.
Thoughts?

Considering simplicity in having only the guy in the lab coat and science underneath it, it does manage to pull it off. I think that if the guy in the center was larger/text were larger it might work better, but other than that, considering the style that you are aiming for, nice work.

There's something about Landscapes that I enjoy as a desktop otherwise it feels boring. But I can say that you certainly got what you were aiming for.

I'm trying out some stuff atm, I've only got Paint.net to work with but I'm pretty sure I have photoshop on disc somewhere so I'll see what that can offer...
Tried simply applying a second glow over the first glow, looks a little nicer. Turns out the first glow wasn't as glowy as I thought due to the angle I look at my laptop from.

If you want to try some more glowy effects, download The GIMP if you can't find your Photoshop CDs.

And just now I did one in the likeness of the comic book character The Spirit

Thinking I really need a better glow effect now... Spose I'll be digging out the Photoshop CD tomorrow.
Also, any requests? For now I'll be sticking to cartoon characters.

They look like elaborate neon signs. Quite cool.
It's nice to see someone doing something different for a change.

If possible maybe you can work on a 1600*900 in the form of the Russian logo of ROTR or perhaps the Soviet emblem from RA2?

Ahh possibly? I'll give that one a go sometime as well.
By those Logos, do you mean the big yellow star?
Also, can anyone give any comments on whether it'd be worth getting a Deviantart account for posting this sort of thing?

Nice work RaiDK, how you fancy making a pixelised version of my avvy?
Tbh I wouldn't. But there is no telling how popular your work would be. DA'ers are f**king strange.
