some of Paul's graphic work

partyzanpaulzy's Photo partyzanpaulzy 07 Mar 2009

I make mod on RA2YR, so I don't make much 3D models, but sometimes I do (to convert into voxel + make icon), even high-poly, I also edit screenshots from voxel viewers for cameos and so.
Now I am getting to my new sig:

The picture definately looks better with the "Piranha" text on the bottom, but it could use a little improvement to make it that much better. The opacity of the lettering could probably be set a bit lighter, so the text is more translucent and the text could also use a few waves in it, to make it look like it is part of the water environment.

Given that I'm delving into photography a bit deeper with each passing day, I must say that I'm very attracted to this particular photo. The focal point is somewhere off in the distance, with the rows of trees shrinking (or growing depending on the viewpoint) toward the vanishing point. May I ask what camera/lens you used to obtain this shot?

Nothing fancy, I can't remember right, but I think it is some Olympus, now several years old (4-5), without optical stabilizer, with some zoom, few basic modes (night, day, landscape, portrait, 2 macros), 5MPix - there was just 256MB card at the time.

Even with cheap camera (150 €) you can get some nice photos.

However it's almost impossible to get nice photo of my weakly lighted 200l aquarium (just 9W+18W compact fluorescent lamp, these and daylight are enough for cryptocorynes)...
some old photos (uni keeps me busy now)

taking photo of smaller 20l sufficiently lighted aquarium is easier:

This old cheap camera has problems with:
-taking photos of barely lighted objects (during twilight, interior in castles, fish in aquarium, etc.)
-taking photos of fast moving objects
-taking photos in the bright sun

with this camera it's possible to get photos like this (maybe it was the same camera model):

So the best photos are those taken in the morning, late evening or cloudy weather which is general truth.
There are various optical filters, tripods and other profi tools, but the most important is camera itself.

Today cameras are much better, with optical stabilizer and 8 MPix from 100€.

I'd say you need more transparency, but that's my transparency-obsession. Looks awesome really, just the text could be more stylized 8|

I'll have to repeat 3rd semester because of health reasons (I had to stay for 2 weeks in hospital and currently I am grounded for 2 weeks),
aside of lot of complications (with school and so) I have lot of free time, I can continue on my mod (Red Alert 2 - Yuri's Revenge modification)
and do few other things like this "caiduck":
