Sourcemod Plugins
Hobbesy 29 Jul 2009
Well, now that we have a server I guess it'd be a good idea to suggest plugins for it. Most of us know about plugins thanks to the infamous HLXStats plugin, but there are some real gems out there among the rubbish.
I suggest one of my favorites, an addon that lets you choose hats for your character to wear.
You'll probably want some custom hats to go with it too.
Here's a few more that I got while playing today.

I can't see a problem with at least trying a few of these, as long as we can verify their security prior to using them.

I've seen this on a few other servers, and it would've been deleted at Allied Modders if it wasn't safe.

What for those having custom models ? Does this work with them, or will it override them ? D:
Hobbesy 29 Jul 2009
The vanilla models will be displayed as the custom one you have if you're wearing it, but it won't overwrite anything.

I do realize it was one more stupid question from me...
Anyways, I like the idea, especially if you put entire models instead of just hats

Hardly, I wouldn't want to redownload all of my custom models again.

That's not really possible considering the way wearables work in TF2 at the moment.

Quote from the linkey you provided :

This plugin allows players to equip wearable items (those being hats, armors, or anything the administrator sets in the server) to customize the visuals of the characters.

Hmm, well, I guess one of the server admins is going to have to test it out to see if it works.

We're running plugins on both servers anyway and I trust 90% of what is on AM. No reason not to have silly hats and pants plugin for some shits and giggles.

Fuck, I'm a dumbass.

Im not sure what it is, but some servers often have a sourcemod radio or somthing like that.
Anyone got an idea if it works?

Seen it and used it. However, the radio options are usually quite poor, and in a game of TF2 or L4d, music is possibly one of the last things that you want. I wouldn't have a problem with seeing it implemented, but I would use it rarely if ever.

on TF2 i actually enjoy it. Especially with some Rock turned on.
Btw this makes me wonder. Is there a plugin for TF2 that allows certain ppl to choose one of multiple skins for classes (as seen in CS:S)

Errr...
That's what Hobbesy actually proposed at the beginning of the topic.
Radio is useless for me, I don't use it on any server, plus it could slow down my connexion even more
