Gift or Curse. Pt.1

Numbers's Photo Numbers 15 Jan 2010

You are capable of traveling through your life line. From the moment of prebirth, to when you die. You can relive any moment by the very will of it. And even change things if you want to. The question is not what you would do with it but the potential such a thing has. And why anyone should or should not have such potential in the first place. As well as it's effects on you, those around you and everywhere else.

Gift Or Curse.

Go watch the Butterfly Effect to see a very good movie based on this premise.

I'd say no to ever doing it because I believe in cause and effect, I think people should make their choice and be responsible for their actions, its what makes them human. Remove this and you strike out a core of humanity, thus anyone able to do this would be cursed.

Edit: Post Script, good topic, should be interesting.

The Butterfly Effect is, like Dauth has already added, this philosophic question acted out on screen. More to the point, this ability would be both a blessing and a curse, the distinction being up to the individual, rather than a black and white definition. The blessing end of it being that you could relive the moments in your life that made you feel most alive, or the ones that you had always wished you could hold on to and cherish. The curse would be that if you changed something that was bad about your life, it could effect other ends, or (to varying degrees) other people around you.

Brilliant question! Just imagine what effect not being yourself in every biological, psychological and marshmallowical sense would have on you! The possibilities are... quite beside the point.
