Mass Effect 2 - Collector's Edition De...
Magma 21 Jan 2010
Today i just got a message from a shop where i bought my ME II CE, which stated that in Europe CE is delayed by a week:
The problem applies to the whole of Europe.
The new preliminary publication is 4.2.2010.
The normal version of the game appears normally on schedule 28.1.2010.
Only thing that i can say to this is:
a week doesn't sound much, but to me who loved ME it hurt my heart(s), but i know that it will be worth the wait.
Hopefully that it will not change again, otherwise i will got to a corner and sulk there for a next 2 weeks.

Can't wait for Mass 2
I can tell from now it will be one of my favorites this year. Possibly number one.

That game has always caught my eye one way or another. Looks like loads of fun. I would buy it if I had the money, although it looks like one of those games where you need to play the first one, then the second >>
However I doubt my mom will even allow in the house - Mainly due to the fact that you can have inter-species 'relationships' (Watched some of the dialogue scenes about that on youtube, I lol'ed so hard )
She thinks I'll be influenced by video games and apply it to real life
BeefJeRKy 27 Jan 2010
You know you can just do it with the human if you want to. And yeah Mass Effect 2 would likely be better if you played the first.

I bought MEI when it was sale for cheap but I haven't DL/ed yet due to lack of HDD space.

Loved the first. Beat the 2nd and I was still super impressed. Although I was somewhat sad as to how the game played out but I don't want to spoil it for anybody.

just put on spoiler tags
what were your results?
by the way i was very impressed with this game, one of my all time favorites. The combat is much improved this time around, and the characters were fascinating. My particular favorites being thane and the illusive man

I'm currently playing through mostly renegade, because some of the interactions are hilarious, like
Don't really care for having to hold down the right mouse button to scan... my finger starts to ache after scanning a sector with 4 systems but atleast I now have about 300k of iridium and platinum, and 150k palladium, so I doubt I'll run out in the near future.
It's good fun all around, I got the headshot kill achievment during the intro/tutorial area using the dinky pistol (and in the next few battles I proceeded to punch-n-shoot everybody )

and I really liked punching the newslady in the first one for some reason... The reason I'm not going full on renegade is because some of the conversation options look like they come off as whiny, and because I want to be nice to certain crewmembers

Also letting wounded people die through inaction is... silly, so I take the paragon points.Don't really care for having to hold down the right mouse button to scan... my finger starts to ache after scanning a sector with 4 systems but atleast I now have about 300k of iridium and platinum, and 150k palladium, so I doubt I'll run out in the near future.

Why aren't there more enjoyable female characters. Like seriously...Tali is the only one I like personality wise. Jacks alright but her whole "I'm so bad ass" Attitude really turns me off from her character. Did anyone else feel like Bioware was trying to create another HK-47 with the whole Thane business?
amazin 13 Feb 2010
i thought thane was the most interesting character next to the illusive man, he was more of a guilty and repentant killer, while HK47 was cold and heartless (well he was a robot)
Kalo 13 Feb 2010
Yes, he's cool indeed. But what I mean is this - HK-47 won awards for being such an original character and it really feels like they tried to get the same result with Thane.
amazin 14 Feb 2010
well theres nothing wrong with developers having incentives for not creating stereotypical and cliched characters
Kalo 16 Feb 2010
Indeed, but cool characters usually come from the fact that they're not forced. Thane seemed to be the real selling point of ME2 for some people just cause of "how cool he looks". But HK-47 I only remember hearing about him from the Fans and not the devs.
Dr. Strangelove 07 Mar 2010
Really? I thought Tali and Legion were much cooler. They better be back in ME3.
Crazykenny 07 Mar 2010
One major downside for me is that they cut out planet exploration, you can only land on a handfull of planets this time round. But the storyline and voiceacting is unreal, really really awesome. I'm definetly looking forward to ME3.

Do you have to make different choices to make them all survive or do you have to get through quickly? Also the final scene with Harbinger is getting me quite excited for ME3. Dammit now I have to wait another 2 years
Magma 09 Mar 2010
It's really easy to get em all to survive, you just have to think in where they're at their best at.
at my first try, only Doc died. next try was 100% success.

I sent in Legion for the tech. I'm guessing mistake? Also I have no idea why Tali died. I never picked her for anything.

Make sure you have done the loyalty quests for all of the characters you assign to do a specific job. Best to do them all anyways(some will die if unloyal even not assigned to a specific job), the game isn't that long:
The Vents: Tali or Legion
Biotic Shield Generator: Jack, Samara, or Morinth
Team Leader: Miranda or Garrus(others may work but I'm not sure. Maybe Zaeed)
Escort The Crew: Mordin
Don't bring combat powerhouses with you to the final battle(Garrus, Grunt, Zaeed), they are needed to hold the line, but make sure you have at least one loyal team member with you.
BeefJeRKy 10 Mar 2010
Nah Zaeed also died as team leader. Samara is a good team leader too though.
