Picky Customer #1
TheDR 06 Feb 2010
I have created a new project with the idea of being open to beginners hoping to improve their photoshop skills and to give the more experienced an arty challenge.
Each week/month (length depending on the project) i will create an rather picky customer, they could be asking for a forum banner, a signature or a tiny icon for their new game.
Then, anyone can submit an entry by posting it in this thread. After the deadline i will create another thread where we can make comments and criticism on the work made, but this isn't a competition, it's a way of gaining experience of creating artwork and a way of receiving positive and constructive comments. There will be two levels of difficulty. One will be the base project and the other will be advanced. Advanced will have a more complex request for those people looking for a challenge.
Project Overview:
- It's all about one rather picky customer.
- They have a request.
- There are two levels of difficulty for the same request.
- You follow the rules of the request.
- You submit your entry into this thread.
- Another thread is made where people will add feedback to your art.
The first picky customer is called Jeff, but as its the first one, it isn't going to be too hard. Jeff wants a signature about this cool new game he has seen called Brink. He wants it in a medium size and for it to look "awesome". He also wants you to use parts of the images he has provided.
Submission Deadline: Friday 19th Feb, 00:00 GMT
Base Project:
Project: Signature
Minimum size: 300x150
Maximum size: 500x200

Please post your entry in this thread.
If you get stuck and need help or you don't understand some of the rules please post in this thread. If you have a suggestion for the next project please post in this thread or PM the suggestion to me.
Good luck and have fun

Man, this must be the best idea you ever had, I've always been looking for ideas since I began photoshopping, and I've always found that imagining a theme was always harder than actually doing it D:
I'm pretty sure it'll be easier for me with this contest, as I'll only have to follow the theme now

for the advanced section, do we need to use all of the colors, or is that just a sort of pallet to choose from?

Palette*. Sorry, I just hate it when people do that . Anyway, I think I'll be in for this one, I really like the idea Doc.

whoa, this looks like my old stuff, but the old fallback border/screen was the best sci-fi thing i could come up with.
(advanced, btw)

Right, it's been a long while since I've made a sig but I think I'd do it for the lulz. This is based on a particular style I use a lot
I did do another one then I noticed I had used something other than green, here is the first one anyway.
PS it's the advanced one and I didn't see any real Sci-Fi in this so I just tried to highlight the action.
