TF2 Server Plugin Suggestions

Hobbesy's Photo Hobbesy 08 Jul 2010

Want a new plugin or map on the server? Want one removed? Get enough backing for it and post about it here. I'll try to get to get them installed or removed based on the feedback I get.

Technically we are spawn-protected...but open the doors and...

I'll be adding this as an alternative to votemap and scramble. It comes with some extra options we can use to put out a vote for melee mode and infinite ammo as well as any quirks we find useful in the future.

Good plugin indeed, but better be careful with that voteban option...

There's a plugin I already proposed many times, but even though the players liked the idea, it's not been implemented yet : The prophunt humiliation:

I know everyone wants to add in plugins, and I'm fine with that, but keep in mind that, as far as I know, the main aim of our server was to have a server which was pure to the original TF2 without that many plugins which permanently change gameplay.

The one I proposed won't change the gameplay, it's only effective after the end of the round, a bit like the opposite of the mayhem plugin :D

I'd much rather not have spawn protection come into play.
It can really hinder progress on some maps. Or make a Spy's job hell.

Spawn protection generally lasts about 5 seconds.
That's 1-3 seconds actually getting to the door (depending on class and map).

Spawn protection is just meant to stop you dieing as soon as you step out the spawn.

..In other words, you're only immune from damage if you're behind the spawn doors. It doesn't work on payload maps.

TF2 already has spawn protection, what more do you want?

Two suggestions :

For the spawn protection, just use the module that makes any player in the spawn immune at his respawn, until he leaves it.
And for the AFK manager, I was on a server which had a great one : it would only kick you if you stay 45 seconds in the spawn, I think it would be better than the silly module we have atm :D

If your getting easy kills at the spawn door then you aren't really playing the game for fun, you are playing it for kills. I'm up for getting some Spawn Protection Installed and from looking at the comments, so is the majority of our player base.
