I just made a splash for the mod i am working what do you think?

I think using standard outer glow colour is just not a good idea. It rarely fits.

Also, did you make that bg yourself? Or is just from google images?

It is from google images. I am not that artistic, and a photoshop noob. I have taken two years of photoshop. so i hope to get better over the years.

so, what do you think of this? should i remove the white ring in the black hole?

I think they are really good for a start (It is plain and simple) and as you get better and better with photoshop all of you pictures will improve and it might even turn into an amazing logo.

also, i put in that shadow of the superweapon of the aliens in the first pic. right hand side
