and this "love of guns" is mostly an illusion. pretty sure huge percentage of those people will refrain from using it or get into shock when the time comes to use those for real.
that's why there is an indoctrination process in the army to turn you into "killing machine"

atleast it was for me. i used to love guns a lot before going to army, was eager to fire and all.

If you do a find and replace on the word 'Gun' and change it to the word 'Power', it then reveals the true meaning.

Guns are power fantasy. The idea that no matter what happens, all is safe when you have your gun. It's the physical manifestation of their Sky Father.


Side note. I guess before guns, did people carry a blade around? I guess blades require skill... unlike guns.

In older times, it made sense to protect yourself. But i guess even now it kinda does in some parts of the world where crime is way too high. We are still a long way away from living with no guns in entire world.

and using guns require skill too

You can still miss your target even if it is in front of you!
