I have started a new map, named tropical hell. Small 1v1 map in the center of a tropical "paradise". I will put up a download for the map when I deem the map finished.

Here are some Screens (before):

To be honest, I have been only working on the map for an hour and a half. I reused a map that had the general layout - River going through the center and base areas already put on.

It looks a bit simple to be honest  It misses a great deal of quality

Neder117, remember that those are the screens when the map was just starting  . I will put more screens up when I get the chance (hopefully today).

I am glad that I already have a waiting list for the map  . THis map might be done in about one to two days, depending on school work and other last-minute changes...

Don't rush it. Remember, quality over quantity ALWAYS.

Don't worry Major Nuker. I, for the most part, finished the map yesterday. I will do some skirmish tests for the AI to see how well the AI plays, fix any last minute things, then release. All of that could happen over a couple of days.

I will remap some textures and other stuff later during the week. I will keep everything posted, pardon the pun.

Other stuff that is not apparent on the screens is that I have added thunder and lightning to the rain that I have already added. Sorry guys, I wasn't able to add lightning because I haven't scripted lightning before :dope: . There will be rain instead.

After messing with the EA lightning and rain effect scripts from the laser general's challenge, i was able to add lightning :P

It looks ok . But these peoples which live in tents worship to rafinnery ?

I was tyrying to go for the tropical houses around a refinery. The people do not worship the refinery, but I was taking some of my experiences from Far Cry: Instincts on the Tropical part of the village.

I plan today to fix the textures around the river and add some more trees and change some trees... then do some AI testing :P .

I have already tried to play on this map and teh AI creams me the first try.

Tropical Hell is released!!!!! :P

This is not the final version, but I will make changes according to Mappers Guild testers and other members of the Mappers Guild, or anyone else that bring up a good point.

Now that I know how to add waves, i am going to add waves to the two ponds on either side of the bases. I will put up a new download after I get the waves looking high quality. :D

I am curious, why are most of the maps here ShockWave maps? Do you guys make many non-Shockwave maps?

I like it already. Good job dude :D

Lord Atlantis's Photo Lord Atlantis 10 Dec 2006

Tropical Hell doesnt use any ShockWave stuff. If you are wondering about Night Shift, kenny removed the flakbunkers and the roads to them.

Right now I can only create ShockWave maps because of computer issues...

All guild mappacks are Vanilla Zero Hour compatible.
All the shockwave buildings have been or replaced, or removed.

On second thought, the map is fine as-is without any waves on the ponds.
