The local paper, the South Bend Tribune, said that an X-ray revealed the bullet entered just above Mr Little’s right ear and ended up lodged in the right side of his skull.
Shocked neighbours gathered outside Mr and Mrs Little’s home after the incident, many said that they heard gunshots, but they had no idea what had happened.
