Supreme Commander now has a release date, and you won't even believe how close it is. The game is scheduled to come out on Febuary 20th, right now they are just perfecting the game any way they can by tweaking small details, fixing slight bugs and making every crease in it unfold.
I'm sure at least a few of you have shared the anxiety I have felt for this game to come out, and well that time is within 3 weeks.

Anyway, I've played a few minutes of it (the computer I was on locks up on every game but it's the only computer that it would work on) and it's very simple. If you've played Total Annihilation, the lay out for building and commanding is quite similar.

I build like at least 10 builders for each tech level (I build at least 20 for tech 3) but it still takes a while. THe problem is ALWAYS maintaining mass and energy, usually masss. It doesn't matter how many builders are working on one project if it's always being held down by a negative mass flow. ANd it pisses me off that it takes a lot of power to build a power plant. Anyways,, I'm usually fully tech 2 at about a lil less than an hour (fully tech 2 means that all of my units are tech 2, I've fully reinforced defenses with tech 2, especially stationary artillery, cuz that helps a lot all the time. At tech 3, things just get so long, at tech 3, the power plant takes enormous energy flow to build it without losing all your power (your power is needed for shield generators, and radar systems), and then nuclear missile silo takes forever to build, with one T3 worker It's i think 80+ minutes, and so is the MAVOR nuclear artillery system. Anyways, as of now, I've defeated the enemy twice by using T3 experimental artillery to pound the center of their base and get a nice hit on the enemy ACU, and once with a nuke right smack in the middle of the base destroying.... everything. Looking forward to absolutely overrunning a base with Galactic Collosuses (Sacred Battle Unit, of the Aeon Illuminate faction, IIRC, it can withstand 4 direct strategic nuclear missile hits at GROUND ZERO, because it has 240,000 health).
I'm looking forward to this and C&C3, this one for long battles that will keep me entertained for a whole weekend, and C&C3 for quick fast paced action with tried and true C&C style.

Once I get the chance, I just whore Support ACUs for contruction and assisting. Then I upgrade them with additional resources. Makes the game seem to go faster.
