With the lack of posts here, I take it either everyone is whoring themselves out to the Spam Discussion forum, or are just not playing games at all.
Bioshock - 9.5/10
Bioshock a FPS, sets you up as Jack, a nondescript every-man destined for greatness. Occupying seat 11C above the Atlantic, in the early sixties, something goes horribly wrong. Jack seems to be the only one to make it out of the crash alive. Jack has no idea what's in store for him, but the choices he makes in the hours following the crash will cause far-reaching effects in a world he knows nothing about. Luckily, a small outcrop of land with a sole lighthouse on it is within reach, which holds said world within. That world is Rapture, an underwater Utopian city with the captivating architecture and vibrant Neon signage that signified the Roaring Fifties.
It's not the usual run-and-gun as we see in other FPS, but with the addition of gene altering Plasmids and Tonics (I'm not going into detail about them, since I don't want a massive post) grants an element of strategy. Annoying splicers dancing around you? Hit them with Winter Blast to freeze them in place then shatter them with a whack of your wrench. The sheer combination of conventional weapons and these new Plasmids make for some fun skirmishes throughout Rapture. The intense visuals and EPIC storyline add to the greatness and grant forgiveness for the lack of multiplayer, the reason for the half mark deduction. I for one sat on my couch mouth agape, first time in years, watching the storyline unfold before my eyes. I'll deny you the spoils of the storyline, but let me tell you, don't pass this game up. You won't be disappointed.
So,...Would You Kindly...pick this game up.
