LCPL, y'know, AllstarZ isn't trying to counter your points, he's just adding more, so stop arguing with him.

If you're a bad shot, use a laser sight.

Don't go shooting an SMG from a distance, you'd get better results in close quarter combat with it.

While shooting with a handgun, try to take mind of how many bullets you've been shooting to take notice when to reload. You wouldn't want to go face to face ala-Matrix then suddenly "click click" right?

If using an automatic rifle with an empty ammo, you can use the butt stock as a melee weapon. Don't go holding and swinging it like a baseball bat.

Always relocate per kill when using a sniper rifle and wrap some cloth on any shining part of it.

Wasn't trying to argue, but I couldn't tell if he was talking to me or not. His posts kept pertaining to aim. When I posted that I was like "I hope he was talking to me and not just posting more tips" and turns out I was wrong. My b, now get over it.

Make sure your laser sight is properly adjusted or there is no point in adding it on.

Which reminds me. Shoving a gun into your belt or pockets is a bad idea, even with the safety on.

If you can, make sure you get a good view down the ironsight first (if you're using a rifle, for example). That'll give you a better shot.

If you can go prone, do so.

Use the breathing cycle.

Against males, groin shots are just as effective as headshots.

Keep that finger off the trigger if you're not planning on shooting very soon.

You are not Neo.

Even if your weapon is capable of automatic fire (and is legal), try to use it as a semi or fire in short, controlled bursts. You start acting like the Germans in Saving Private Ryan and all you'll get is a wasted clip or two.

Don't play with the gun.

Clean it. And when you're done shooting, no matter the case, wash your hands. You don't want to get gunpowder and shit in your food.

Even if you're at a rifle range, be careful with the thing. Especially with guns with light triggers. Air rifles, for example, only need a tap and the pellet goes flying.

If you really have to shoot something, go to a rifle range. Backyard shooting is frowned upon by most authorities.

When in a firefight try to make sure you keep your eyes open for the enemy, friendly's, and cover.

Try to avoid friendly fire at all times, the last thing you need is helping the enemy by thining out your sides numbers.

Don't buy a pump shotgun for home defense, it's really foolish to think that it's a good idea to "intimidate" the intruder with the "pump" sound, stick to a pistol, easier to handle, and easier to conceal

Also, for home defense, try not to shoot where a bullet might go through a wall and injure a family member

Actually a shotgun works well if you can't aim. The spray of shot, no matter how exaggerated in games, helps aiming.

That makes me scared... A homeowner with no knowledge of aiming guns armed with a shotgun...

*shivers*

EDIT:

I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I'm saying as if this person was my neighbor or something, cuz I don't want some guy taking pot shots with a shotgun anywhere near me.

Try not shooting when near gas tanks, or fuel tanks. It's the last thing you want to do.

When firing in full auto always shoot in short controlled bursts
Dont be an idiot and think that large weapons are better compared to smaller compact ones

If your only using a gun for home defense, get a compact pistol, with a large magazine (and try not to get trigger happy).

THe only time a revolver would be beneficial is if your semi-auto pistol jams, because with revolver, just pull the trigger again, instead of thinking "wtf happened, why isn't my gun shooting" before realizing it's jammed. Anyways, seriously, compact pistol, and a long .22 are... very different.

And if you have a misfire, pull the trigger again. If you have a misfire in a semi-auto you're in serious trouble.

Immediate Action for M-16A2 service rifle
(What you do to clear a jam)

S-lap gently upward on the magazine to ensure it is fully seated, and the magazine follower is not jammed.
P-ull the charging handle fully to the rear.
O-bserve for the ejection of a live round or expended cartridge.
R-elease the charging handle (do not ride it forward).
T-ap the forward assist assembly to ensure bolt closure.
S-queeze the trigger and try to fire the rifle.

Jams could be caused by other means besides misfires.
