So it's Korean fanservice just because you don't like the graphics style? That's world class argumentation, right there.

If that was aimed at me, I was referring to the fact that 80% of the game is going to be exactly the same.

Well it´s a direct successor, both from the point of gameplay and story/continuity, so it has to share some similarities. Otherwise, it´s like everyone naggin about TW not beeing WW´ish enough... but yeah, a bit less old and more new (~50/50) would be better, i agree.

(Note: Continuity doesn´t have to apply to graphics :D )

It's just that I really wanted a step up from the old gameplay/art style.

If you look at the gameplay video at the starcraft2 site, it's basically seeing Starcraft with better graphics and a couple of new units.
But the look is exactlly the same.

Ships are slow as hell for example. I mean the jets in Generals are slow but in Starcraft it's like hitting slow mo on your remote control.
The nuke, small as ever although it comes with 3 loads.
The little infantry with the same old animations.

I mean if you like Starcraft 1 and you just want it enhanced this seems to be the game for you.
If you wanted something new, fast and innovative with the Starcraft theme, it's just a no go.
I stopped playing Starcraft 1 because I couldn't stand this gameplay and look anymore.
Games like Generals, Battle for Middle Earth 2 and especially DoW and CoH drew me back, and for a reson.
I see no reason in picking up Starcraft again.

I'm just sick of this aged RTS game style and I really wanted something fresh both in gameplay, unit and graphic design. I guess I have to stick to Relic for that.

It isn't. You are still basing most of your opinions on visual info. If you knew as much as I do about how SC1 plays on a competitive level, what you can read about SCII at this point should be enough to tell you that it will be a quite different experience.

1. Stated that 2/3 of all units in the game will be completely new, and that none of them will be new versions of old unit roles.

2. Stated that they are focusing less on micro and more on economy management. SC1 is the most micro-reliant RTS in history, side by side with WCIII.

3. The unit selection cap has been removed and gameplay will be less territorial, but more aggressive.

4. Faction dissimilarity is being skewed even further than it already was in SC1.

The only direct similarity I have seen so far is in terms of graphic direction and the few returning units, and in the way flying units are handled, weapon range and the steep terrain height differences.

The reason leveled terrain height remains is because they want to keep this unique tactical feature instead of making SC2 into a rushdown-oriented C&C3-clone/DoW-clone/SupCom-clone. There really isn't any better choice as to what you should emulate in Starcraft 2... than Starcraft 1.

Hm, I guess we should really leave judging about the gameplay untill there´s some sort of demo or better gameplay-videos.

Yeah, certainly true. Did they really say that SC1 was macro-oriented in that article you´ve posted? :D
