She said it ran slow, Spring is similar to SupCom in many ways, runs much faster and has a lot of mods already playable. Ergo, it may be an alternative to explore.

lower the graphics settings to it's lowest, or get a better graphics card.

Get a much better card then. My old Geforce 6800XT ran it decently but slow. My new 8600 GTS runs it real good. 6800 is bound to be cheap while the 8600 is probably over $100.

Lowering the graphics really doesn't help that much. It still runs at pretty much at the same speed as any of the other settings. Or at least on my computer it does.

Spring > Supreme Commander.

I was extremely disappointed with SupCom. Spring all the way!

eh, i'm gonna upgrade to dual core anyway, i was havin issues doin that too, so i'll pretty much get new everything, CPU, Mobo (still has an AGP i got good vid card tho), RAM (DDR2 800MHz), PSU, not a new case (i'll use the old LAN gamer's case i got) and keep my keyboard, my Cybersnipa intelliscope mouse, and my monitor, i got speakers that will work too. all i'm upgrading for is really Starcraft II. but playing supcom (i can play it on my 6 yr old box and it surprised me that it ran, but i get bout 14 fps on it, so its laggy, but i understand why) would be nice to do on med-hi specs.
R.I.P. Luyo, I will never forget you.
