FG-42s and standard bolt-action rifles are my favorite for WWII and before games; for games after that its the Penetrator from FEAR.

damned if i know my gun names, but the rifle off of Half Life, with the rpg-launcher alternate fire.
In anything I'm a big fan of suppression fire, a-la don't get shot because you're opponent cant actually get out from cover without being hit. Let loose with a full clip on that, oh look, out of ammo, let an rpg off, reload in the subsequent confusion, rinse, repeat

OK, it may not be a man-portable weapon but it can be construed as a "weapon" in some sense of the word: EXO RUSH KEKEKE!!! (Seriously, it's everything it's said to be.....)

Stake Gun

Nothing says "I love you" Like a stake through the head of some zombie, witch or wierd crawly thing.
Simply awesome weapon. If anyone has played Painkiller they will know.
In real life, my favorite would have to be the AK-47.
Powerful, Realiable and beats the shit out of the M16 and M4.
This is the weapon of choice for me. If I had one Id be one happy hunter, especially since you could probably go Grizzly bear hunting with it

They aren't even in the same family, besides sharing the same manufacturer. The M240 is a HMG based off the FN Mag where as the M249 was designed as a lighter MG for indoor use.

There are some design similarities between those two. Thats just because it is from the same manufacturer.

Rail Driver from Red Faction.

This next one is me shooting and killing someone with it since i couldn't find a pic of it being shot.
In this I'm "=)"

Cool thing about this gun is the infrared scope allows you to see through walls and also shoots enemies through walls but it has a really slow reload time and its also a 1 hit kill so you gotta be careful with your shots sometimes *like shooting down a flag carrier cause you normally don't get a 2nd chance to take em out due to the reload time* 1 round per clip.. so the gun does take some skill in aiming.
This game is still active online but its close to death I was playing it some today.

Nova Antimatter Cannon. It's from a Freelancer modification called Discovery. It owns the shit out of enemy capital ships and if you can aim it well you can drop a fighter in one hit as it does 44,500 hull damage and 22,250 shield damage. It's only downfall is it costs $7 million to buy and it uses almost all of your fighter's available power. (Capital ships usually fear a well piloted very heavy fighter or bomber, bombers more because they can mount two of these and still have a lot of power remaining to fire their main guns.)
I'll get a screenshot of it soon displaying its stats.

Hmm, screenshots. Alright, I suppose I could provide some as well as going into more detail.
(Plus it's an excuse to show off some skins. xD)
Franchi SPAS-12 Pump-Action Shotgun:
Otherwise Known As: Leone 12 Gauge Super

Real-Life Pros:
In 2 words, this gun is Bad-Ass. There's just something about the design that really makes this Shotgun stand out in my eyes.
The carnage and destruction this gun can weild are very tempting aspects, you don't just shoot someone, you put a crater in them.
The foldable stock also allows for a more stable firing platform in those situations that you feel like folding it out.
And of course, you can insert different shells for different firing methods. It's variable.
CSS Pros:
The ability to outright kill someone is a very fearful one. If you can get a solid hit to the upper-chest area, you've got them.
If you somehow don't manage to kill them outright, you're definitely looking at 70+ damage, minimum. Next shot'll end them.
It's cheap in comparison to the power it holds, where as the Terrorist's AK is about $2500, this is only $1700. Bang for your buck.
Hecklar and Koch PSG-1 Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle:
Otherwise Known As: D3/AU1

Real-Life Pros:
Regardless of the ridonkulasly huge barrel, it's actually a very nice weapon. Especially with a Wooden Handle.
The ability to provide accurate fire in rapid succesion without having to pull a bolt back is obviously going to be a great tactical asset.
What can I say? Snipers own at long range. You pull off that head-shot and they're down, period.
To a lesser extent, you could literally dis-'arm' them if you were feeling particularly malicious.
CSS Pros:
A big Sniper without being a 'Noob-Cannon'. The ability to pull out two deadly shots is one that will cause enemies to fear you.
A hefty 20-round clip ensures you'll be sniping for quite a while before having to reload. A good plus on the battlefield.
Of course, again. Landing a headshot is instant death, so if you're particularly skilled this gun can take down an entire squad in a few seconds.
Rakow G2A2 Assault Rifle:
Otherwise Known As: Maverick M4A1 Carbine

Real-Life Pros:
None, this gun is entirely fictional. For those of you who haven't quite got it yet, this is the G2A2 Rifle out of 'F.E.A.R.'.
CSS Pros:
The default M4A1 was an ugly bitch of a gun (imo), I would not touch that gun with a 50ft pole. With the G2 Skin, I look forward to picking one up.
Not only that, but this gun reminds me of my all-time favourite series the HK G36. (The Picatinny Rail and Firing Mechanism on this skin in particular.)
This gun (in both games) was an all around good gun. Able to engage in Long-Range and CQC with good results.
And the nice 30-Round Clip ensures a good attempt before having to reload. Depends how good you are at aiming.
So yeah. Good guns, cheers for reading.
