Cold Hands, No Heart

I don't want this anymore
I'll watch you leave and shut the door
Bring clouds and rain
darken my skies
This life doesn't matter
Everything I touch
every word I utter
Cuts you deeper than I ever wanted

Let me hang
Pendulum swing
Time will drift
and sands will shift
Time is never kind

Tears I've bled
no more will they stain (your shirt)
All in vain
have I apologized
Sweet dreams dear madam
You can't see me anymore
Transparent is my calling now

This next entry of mine is modeled more after a self-help column, rather than my usual poetic entry.

So by now I'm sure most of you have figured out I'm not perfect. I'll admit it, I'm as far as far can be from that almost mythical plane of human life. Perfection is not within me, though at times I wish it were. Times that I wish just for that moment, that day, that I could do everything right and have nothing go wrong. Then life slaps me in the face and reminds me I'm only human....so it's time to wake up and smell the coffee (or tea depending on what part of the world you come from).

I've probably messed up more this week than I have in all of last year. The most amazing this is, Saturday and Sunday are usually good days for me. If you need help in understanding why this is, let me point your attention to the first paragraph.

Gentlemen, my advice to you is never, NEVER piss off a woman. If you're lucky, it'll be the last thing you ever do. Just having one mad at you is enough to ruin a week...or even a month, but that's not how I roll. No, I had to make two mad at me. It's not that I wanted to, but it happened, and now I'm running for my life. See what I mean about me not being perfect? Yeah....life sucks and then some. Fortunately there's a few state borders and a giant body of water keeping my family jewels and neck in a healthy state of being. If it were not so, I doubt I'd be writing this entry. A woman can be your best ally or they can be your worst enemy, it's your choice. My advice would be to keep them as an ally. Learn from them, it'll make you a better man. Then again, you can over-due this and well, you get the picture. But seriously, treat women with respect at all times. Earning someone's trust isn't an easy thing. The only thing easy in this process is losing that trust. It's easier than spending money, and that's the scary thing about it. You can do so much and work really hard to earn someone's trust, and in the blink of an eye, that work can be thrown away. Sad, no? It's the honest truth of how humans work. This is especially true in close relationships. Guys, once you gain the trust of a lady, never, EVER take it for granted. Again, if you're lucky, it'll be the last thing you'll ever do.

Word to the wise: If you do happen to %$&*# things up, be sure to admit your wrong-doing ASAP. Apologize with the utmost sincerity, so that when you do say you're sorry, it doesn't come off as some canned response. Face to face confrontations are best, but when those aren't possible, a real-time IM or phone call is the next best thing.

Regards,

Nuker

PROOF that Nuker is not perfect:

Okay, seriously, sounds kinda... painful. Sorry to hear such crap happened. Hope it is all mended soon, and with you, I'm sure that should be no issue.

Past Tense of Human Life

I can see
beneath this reverie
and I've seen
more than I dare to bare
Can't stand you sitting there
watching me hopelessly
floundering
wallowing
guessing if I'll breathe another day

I am so many things
but a champion am I not
This truth has haunted me
and all I want is wanted

Tell me what's happened
you used to fill the room
with your wonderous scent
and glowing face
Now all that I have is disgrace
No lights for my path
No guide for my walk home

I was so many things
but a winner am I not
This truth has haunted me
and all I ever wanted
was love

Can't you tell
that my silence is calling you
Whisper words my way
I'm calling from the bottom
and I mean every word I say
What does that mean to you

These words have not been kind
and I've fallen behind
Inside I am numb
but you'd never know
You never look my way

I am
I was
I am....yesterday
I was.....today
I don't know why
I need
someone to comfort me

The Most Wonderful Failure

You can't see inside of me
but if you could you'd see
a small boy in the corner
wondering why nobody loves him

Slowly but surely
I've managed to push you all away
Can't say that I'm proud of me
but there's nothing else to tell

I'll be a loner
and string myself (so that you don't have to)
I can't tell you
how horrible it is
to know that no one cares
because you've pierced their hearts
and bled their love dry

A friendless face
no kindred spirit within
Some hollow hulk
with space for rent
and placeholders for eyes

I'm sorry I'm nothing more
than a wonderful failure

Very well written, extreemly poetic. A little too dark for my taste, but I managed to read it all with rapt attention, so you know its good.

Please take this well, but i dont know wheater to love or hate your poetry, it reminds me of things in my past, some i'm not proud of. Its probably some of the most powerful literature i read with any frequency. You have a wonderful talent, have any of these ever been published?

No, none of these works you see before you have been formally published. The ones you see were written on the day the date depicts and I have not sent them out to any newspaper or magazine.

Wayward Captain

Send your laughter
send your jeers
I've been cast off enough to know
the difference between
a glass half full
and a book of folly

Tell me what I don't know
whisper words in secret (riddle me this)
may my ears never hear them
nor may my mouth ever speak

Your end is near
and so is mine
but seeing we're no different
I'll walk the line
and hold the time
I'll give you rhyme
and in return you'll reason
Never have you felt this way
so never shall I stay

A shallow cove
and broken dock
Gray clouds threaten
and a shoreline mocks
Who are you to tell me
the sun doesn't love me
Who are you to hate me
when your ship has sailed away

By now your mind is riddled (riddle me that)
thoughts racing away the day
and all that you dare ponder
is slipping toward decay

I had to read twice your different poems to understand them completly but waow, you truly have talents writing poetry, don't you ? Some of your poems are also very dark but that make them very "touching" ( not sure that's english ), it's like if we could feel your pain by reading them.
I'm French, so I presume you expect me to talk about Croissant & Cheese...

Ah yes... another darker themed poem. Once again a masterpiece among your others. It does have a desperation feeling to it and seems that who you are talking about has given up.

Fancie Black-Heart

Twisted phrases
and truncated letters
Littered on the floor
like a child's plastic fun box
Go on crank the handle
Fancy a little smile

How shameful are your ways
and condemning are your thoughts
A black heart beats inside
what was once a shrine of love

Take your damnation
no one wants to see your face
And what you have to say
is all a big disgrace
A fallacy that only you believe
broken shards of still remains
Shattered hope falls the farthest

You'd choke your own self
to save your blackest dreams
and all they'll net for you
is a fist full of change

Bend my words no longer
and keep your visage from light
For walking down that highway
will be the last saunter
the crows will see of you

Impressive. I cant quite describe what I feel when I read them I annot say they are good because the poems are generaly not uplifting, but they are well written and touch you in a certain area of one's soul. You have loads of talent to be sure, I'm sure you could publish these.

But in a strange way it's an interistingly good read... You feel a kind of duality when you read these, its dark but somehow I cannot describe the other aspect of my thoughts especially your last post. I look forward to more.

Rose Petal Reverie

A lonely endeavor
venturing farther from contact
and yet I smell
a sweet airy mist
reminding me of days gone by
and a home
filled with caressing arms
and fireside smiles

Your touch it makes me stay
and wishes me away
Undulating rhythms
and swaying breezes
Being good isn't all there is
You only matter to the one you love
and you mean the world
to only one

If she loves you
and you love her
then rain will fall tonight
If she loves another
then you've spent too much time
getting coffee in the morning

Humor is disarming
Humor is so dis-arming

Laugh a moment away
and I'll spend a day
believing just the same
It's all just a memory
but you live in vibrant color
just to say you're the one for me

I write them from my heart for the most part, but I doubt that's what you mean. It rarely takes me over 10 minutes to conceive one, though there have been pieces I've stewed over for hours. Not in one sitting mind you, but collectively, through countless eraser marks and scribblings and vocabulary changes. I do pour out my soul every time I write. My twist on the English language is not as twisted as I'd like it to be. I wish I could bake in some of the elegant pros my piers can. To paint a picture with words is not an easy task by any means and that's what I aim to do each time I gather my thoughts, this keyboard or a trusty pad and ink. Sometimes the utterances are lonely quibbles that dance through my head. Other times they are angered verses that I spin and twist and sculpt into mere shards of gems. Maybe one day I'll have enough shattered dreams to catch a glint of sunlight. Maybe then I'll sparkle and shimmer on a mid-summer's night. Only time will tell.

I hope this helps to answer what simple question was asked of me.

Nuker

Each poem that you have written has given a glimpse into your soul and what its pleasure and pain is. Again I find your work amazing.

That poem comes across me... in a sensitive way. Very good piece.

The funny thing about my most recent post is that it wasn't a poem at all. I just decided to reply in a more artful manner than the dreary drone of formal sentences like the ones I'm writing now.

You Wear Time Well

So it's all over
It's come to an end
I see your face is gaunt
and your eyes are cold
so what's the matter now

How can you be at the top
and in the valley
before I see the sunrise
and breathe the breath
of a day starting over

Don't cry again
make me fall apart
and I'll stare your way
just for today
but I'm moving on
You're welcome to follow
just know I'm not waiting (for you)

I've packed my bags
and I've locked the door
Colors drifting in the cool damp air
My feet drag on concrete
littered with the tears of our tree
Makes no difference
I'm walking on
until I reach the end
and then will come a time
where I need to know
do I walk right on by you
or leave my heart on the table

You've been so kind
this year I was away
I don't regret living this way
but no one's told me how you felt
when you were out walking
with another's hand
holding you against the wind
