Well in the Netherlands we have a "Moddergat" (meaning "mudhole" with "hole" as in "stupid little village") and a "Doodstil" ("dead silent").

And from The Impossible Quiz, I learned there is a "Bitchfield", "Blubberhouses", "Brown Willy", a "Budd's Titson" and a "Twatt".
