We do the count on not more than 2000 for thanks and 1000 for infantry buildings can have around the 6000 or more

1000 is kinda high for infantry.... keep in mind that its an RTS not a first person shooter

the engine didnt become more powerfull, it just has more options (it also requiers a bigger pc to run)
i 'd say 500 poly's would be enough for an infantry model, you wont see all the detail in a 1000 poly model since they aren't very big

FPS use about 10,000 Polys.Except Renegade cos that was done cheaply :DD
