[Lord Atlantis]

Here is where I shall keep my writings for anyone who is interested.

Writing isn't one of my forte's, so I am going to post works here to get feedback and improve. Espically poetry, since I generally don't get the feelings and inspirations and such.

Just keep in mind that I may not write things quite often in here.

And now for my first poem:

-Love-

When ever I think of you,
This overwhelming feeling,
Sweeps up my soul,
And makes me forget the world.

My heart beats heavier,
Desring to be with your's.
My hands feel numb,
Longing for your heat,
That will warm them.

When I touch you, feel you,
All my worries and fears,
Melt away.
Leaving me purified in joy.

When you aren't around,
I feel like I am missing something,
something that keeps my hopes,
My dreams,
My soul,
Alive.

When I am with you,
I feel complete.
Nothing could take what I feel.
My spirit burns with a fiery passion,
For you,
Called love.

A very moving piece. Heart-felt from word one and it continues to be so all the way until the end. At the end, the aftershock of such emotional wording sets in. Poetry such as this, moves people in a special way, the way we all need to be moved sometimes.

Keep her, treasure her mate, as I know you will. You certainly have talent in this realm, even if you think you don't. All that matters is the look in her eyes as she reads this and that you mean every word you wrote.

Here is another poem that I wrote as a reminder that what I have few people do have and can fall apart quite easily.

-To the Sun-

Is there a limit
to how high one can fly?
When you fly so high
that you can reach out
and touch the sun?

I can dream and imagine,
how people are left
on the ground
envious of feeling.

For I am one of the few.
That has the feeling,
and power,
that lets me fly to the sun
and the stars above.

The sun that warms the planet.
The sun that brings life.
The sun that makes people smile.
But the sun can also melt one's wings,

leaving them to fall back to the planet
in broken spirits
and broken dreams.

Love is surging through your veins and you feel empowered by its warmth. Love makes us do and feel many things and your poem shows you feel its tender glow. Your poem reminds me of something I once had, and although it's a rather bittersweet memory, that doesn't take away from your piece.

-Bridge to Eternity-

I was told about a bridge.
A bridge that will lead
one to a place all desire;
Eternity

I must confess,
I thought that bridge was a myth.
A hoax of people's desires
to fix what is broken.

But some have found this bridge,
yet it eludes me as to where it stands.
Some say that it lies here,
other say there,
but I can never find out where it ACTUALLY lies.

I've heard stories of people who have
ventured across the bridge.
They talk of wonder and pleasure.
But the thing that haunted them the most
was being alone.

One day I found this bridge.
when the rain cleared I saw you
sitting on the ground crying.
Part of you was broken,
something that I could easily see.
The pain behind your beautiful eyes.

I took your hand.
I promised I would heal you,
I promised I would protect you,
I promised I would never leave your side,
and I promised that I would walk the bridge with you,
to Eternity.

For those who haven't heard, my old GF and I broke up on the 18th. Over 6 days, I have found myself liking a old friend of mine that I have known for 2 and a half years and I asked her out last wednesday, the 24th. This poem is in reflection of the new feelings that I have for her.

-The Lovely Sun-

I long to be with you.
You make the sun rise above the clouds,
bringing forth the sunrise
that compliments your features.

When I look into your eyes,
I see the beauty of the orbs
that shine when I look upon them.

When I hold you, snuggle with you
I feel love and compassion for me.
Being with you makes the whole world comfortable
letting the darkside of life
melt off me, leaving me absorbed in your compassion.

Every time I am with you,
Life seems perfect.
Nothing under the sun could make me happier
than the love that I have for you.

A part of me is clawing for attention from reading that poem. Even though I've be single for well over a year now, there is a part of me that longs for a companion to share that gentle touch with. I feel like a lost puppy when I read "When I hold you, snuggle with you I feel love and compassion for me. Being with you makes the whole world comfortable." For me, that phrase is so unbelievably powerful. I feel as if you knew how I felt two years ago, when I had a better half.

This is a poem that I wrote, but have never shared with anyone until just now. It came on after my previous GF and I had a talk about how the relationship was going...

-The Vile Poison-

I have been living life
unsuspecting the very thing
that I prided myself most about
was gone

But I don't think it is mererly gone
for I had experiences and the rest of summer
that could have changed that
but I don't know

Now that I think about it
the thing that I prided myself most about


its still there
it still exists

this changed state, corrupted state
it has been slowly dripping poison
into my very happiness in life
it has been slowly pushing what I care for away from me

the thing that I cared for noticed this change
and thought it was infact she who changed
because of what I did over the summer
but after trying and trying to change
it was infact me who was different

this change took away the very thing that she liked about me
the very thing about me that make her think about me
with out thinking about it
and now, with the cold, metallic truth out there

I have only so much time to fix what has changed
I have only so much time to see if there is something still inside
that she likes... that she wants...
I guess that it may come down to this -
"When you try your best but you don't succeed...
When you get what you want but not what you need..."

I never did bother to fully "finish" the poem, so this is where it is at its uncompleted state.

That once bright spot in my soul is now languishing in agony as I read the latter half of your poem. I've written poems like this before, but I don't believe any of those sob stories can compare with this beauty. Well done mate.

Every moment when I am with you,
I realize what I have.
My heart beats faster
as it longs to be with you.

My spirit, a holy flame;

a flame that is undying.

flowing between us,
intertwining our spirits,
in the name of compassion.

I will love you

There is something about you,
that brightens my world
and hold my spirit secure

Your inspiration is no doubt the one you treasure most. I, like you, wrote scores of poems brought on by the one I loved. Your poem describes your deep affection, your desire to always be near her and the wonderful elation she gives you so freely. Well done mate .

I feel that when I say
"I love you"-
It really can't convey
how I truly feel for you.

If my love for you
were a painting on a canvas,
it would be a brilliant display
of warmth,
passion,
affection,
and love.

The warmth that you bring
to my heart
flows and drips off
the canvas, blending with love,
to paint my spirits
as they fly to the heavens.

The passion for you, mixed with the warmth
provides the backdrop,
showing its richness
with how much I would do for you

The affection lances across the skies
from the golden sun,
as a gift from God,
that lights the whole world,
illuminating how much I care
about you.

The love, the heart and soul,
is this beautiful vista
that surrounds us,
leaving only you and me
and the love that flows
between.

Mere words cannot describe
what I feel for you.

paints the words "I love you".

Thats is amazing. That has captivated me. Great good Atlantis. I love how you describe the love as a painting, then incorporated the different elements also,:smile:.

A Reality for Me

My heart can only hold
so many feelings.
For I scribe onto
this imaginary paper
into an imaginary reality.

I let the feelings
flow through my hands,
putting into words
what people cannot comprehend.

These papers, covered with

and feeling.

If I were to wish upon a star...
A star that fell from heaven,
graced by the glory of light
peace, power, love...

I would wish,
