I use my turbo-fire M60. It shreds choppers in no time and you can use the slot of the RPG-perk for something that's actually useful.

My sole gripe about multiplayer is that you can't combine the silencer with other attachments (silencer/red dot) or even 2 other attachments (grenade launcher/silencer/red dot). Hell, on the picture on the little loading thing before the game itself starts shows a soldier with an M16A4 with a grenade launcher, flashlight, and ACOG scope.

Edit: I knew that would be OP, but still, at least a scope and a silencer.

Thats indeed very sad, would be pretty Badazz but also Overpowered though.
There were Rumors once, that when you go through all Ranks 10 Times and then reach Commander, you be able to add every Extra to your Weapon and also unlock 2 Perks.

This is not true.

Oh, I'd love my Barret with Scope and all that hot Stuff.

Also, random question: for when you use SMGs, do you use the steady aim or deep impact perk? (if you have to choose between the two)

Speaking of grenade launchers, those who unlocked the unlimited ammo "cheat" in singleplayer, try the American mission after the one with the AC130. Right at the beginning, there are two Marines on the left hiding behind a car. If they die, you can get an M16A4/M203. It's a full auto M16 which I only found in that one mission and using the ammo cheat, you have a grenade launcher that literally fires with the speed of an mg. A total no-brainer but it's kind of fun to use this thing for the whole mission. Shoot into the sky and you have your very own artillery support.

About that: how do you unlock cheats? by collecting all laptops?

Is it true that once you get to prestige 3 or 4 IIRC that you get to control your helicopters?

I wouldn't believe that.
Also, how would that be possible? Your Main Character then would stand around somewhere, doing nothing and you'd get killed all the time. :P

I don't know, but when people over 3rd prestige call in Helicopter, the helicopter is constantly moving and fires heck loads of missiles as well as bullets and does not follow the path that a normal helicopter would follow (move, stop, shoot then move to another location etc...)

No offence, but if you dismiss this game because of THAT, it's your own fault.
CoD4 is worth the money for Singleplayer OR Multiplayer ALONE because both are just awesome.

Modern warfare is still better than the overused WW2 scenario. Compared to those, I don't recall many decent modern combat games.
Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, Delta Force, that's pretty much the most popular series.

A scenario which is in dire need of some representation is WW1 actually.

WWI is drab. RTS/turn-base if better suited for this type of trench warfare devoid of live action.

That is the point. Most modern combat games are utter shit. I am right now downloading the demo of cod4, just to confrim that I don't like it.

Vietnam and Korea aswell.

The Korean conflict is literally the Forgotten War and I don't believe there has been a game set in this theatre yet.

huh i dont see anything so "Forgotten" about Korea....if Korea is the forgotten war then what are the Yugoslav wars, Hindu-Pakistani conflicts, Israeli-Arab wars....etc?

if theres any theatre than thats gotta be WWI or sum WWII theatre thats not in the European part (Europe is overused IMO)

as for the modern warfare thingy....please explain the sentence "Most modern combat games are utter shit"....the games that u agreed with are almost half of the MW games out there.....

Oh yes, especially a 'Nam Call of Duty would be neat. I do recall a single game about Korea and surprisingly, it was called Forgotten Conflict.
Never tried/heard more of it though...

@TehKiller
As much as the scenarios you enumerate would be interesting, the problem is we'll never see any of those in a game.
Apparently, a war is only a war if the US are involved. I don't remember any war-related FPS that didn't have the US in it.
