It was developed under 10 years of research and will be, in near future, ready to "get into war". The last part is perhaps still a bit too futuristic and exaggerated, because a self acting, "robo-soldier" isn't possible, yet. Just think of walking over uneven ground, it's still a big challenge for 2 legged robots.

I think a kind of suit type thing was posted in the Shockwave section. That has no trouble with rough ground plainly because it's a suit operated by a human and the suit simply augments his actions.
That's kinda what the Shockwave ExoSuit is like.
But honestly, I think the ExoSuit in Shw is more like the Wolverines in TS than anything in RL.
