First off, "So people who lack depth perception don't see realistic form?"

Secondly, "'To admire an inhuman figure over a human figure is to degrade the human figure.' a opinion "
Where on earth do you get this argument. If there are two boxes on two shelves that are vertically stacked, would not switching the boxes' placement cause one box to become less noticed and the other more? To position one above the other is to position the other under the one. That's just simple logic.

I just don't get what people are trying to prove by pretending they are incapable of liking lifelike drawings of attractive women. Nothing is inhuman as long as the person looking at it has his imagination stirred by it. This is also why less humanlike designs like plush toys, cartoons and whatever evokes empathy and curiosity, but some creepily near-human exhibition robot creates fear and disgust in the viewer. We seek to give inhuman things human qualities inside our heads, and thus they become something more than what they really are.

It's just the way our brain is wired up, man. And it's anyone's right to do whatever they want with their imagination.

Quote

Therefore: Some find inhuman forms to be sexually appealing.
Therefore: Some find human forms to be sexually appealing.

Almost everyone is capable of finding both "appealing". Do you even know what the initial premise for this discussion is? Obviously you do, because you set it for yourself when you started typing. :P

nobody truly lacks depth perception yes with there eyes but with there body they have other ways of precieving depth you

it does not degrade the value of the box since value is subjective so the overall value has not changed just the perception
to that individual and they have the right to think that way.

its not that i don't agree with that opinion its still a opinion I for one like true human form over fantasy any day its true so far i have yet to be able to experience it all. but i do know that fantasy is just that fantasy. and in my opinion its nothing someone should get so absorbed in that they loose sight of this world

If I am off with what I am arguing in the first place, then I see no reason why the author of the topic quoted me in the first place. The only actual argument I put up here is that hentai is degrading to real women and I feel I have sufficiently backed that up. This is only an aid to the argument as a whole in which I don't have a stance except that I feel real women are real and cartoon women are cartoons.

And to point to the above post: It is my view that fantasy causes more harm than good. Illusion versus reality, reality wins. It would take a series of essays of mine to back this one up, so do me a favor and just google it.

I know there ways to back it up but there also ways to refute it too so its one of those views that I say should be taken with care since its not that its wrong but its something many don't exactly know how to handle well since i know there are people who totally get absorbing in fantasy those are the ones it would be harmful to but then there others who get absorbed but then can go around and reject it for what it really is just a fantasy.

so its all in how you handle your fantasies

Does that say anything about the worth of your opinions?

I see, objectifying cartoon women is degrading to real women. That makes alot of sense, except for that it doesn't make sense in any possible way. I think you need to learn to separate reality from fantasy.

Be smart, now. To anyone, it would take a LOT of escapism to completely eschew reality in favor of fantasy. Of course reality weighs in heavier than fantasy. But that doesn't have as much to say regarding this topic as you seem to think.

Now, explain me why fantasy causes more harm than good, because I refuse to "just google it" in a heated discussion on a discussion forum.

I'm sorry Boidy but your just contradicting yourself, first off you "prove" (in your own twisted logic) that anime does not represent a real human, because the proportions are wrong etc. and then you say its degrading to women, but how could it be degrading to women if it does not represent them in anyway.

Also i would like to show this painting from magritte:

If you don't know french, it says "this is not a pipe"

Now you may be thinking, what the hell? It has the proportions of a pipe, it has the colouring of a pipe.... but at the end of the day its just a representation of a pipe. It never has and never will be a pipe. Similarly to anime and photographs a like, they are just representations of objects (or in this argument women)

One could argue that photographs are at least of "real" women, but as i mentioned before, photographs are often photoshoped... yes they were orginally photos of a real women.. but at what point does it become not real? 1 inch of the waist? 2? No, before photoshoping has even taken place.

I think maybe ypou misunderstood what i'm saying. I'm not saying people who like anime have a fetish. I'm saying some people who are sexually attracted to it here have a fetish. Like some people in the "hot anime babes" thread.

Well, what is the problem with fetishes?

We are enjoying a virtual war simulation, and there are probably a lot of people in the world who would call that sick and weird, too.

As long as nobody is harmed, why do you want to generate hatred and declare a group of people unnormal or inferior?

if you want to know why thats complicated answer since there somethings that can't be explained like explain to me why you like certain feature of a person its not easy nor can you fully explain since opinions are like that not only that people have different reasons i personally have no specific reason why i do except that i do maybe its the emotions expressed through the drawing or the style who knows all i know is i find it some of it attractive

like that picture that boidy showed thats unattractive to me
