The Big Lebowski

WARNING: SPOILERS!

I have so much to say about this movie. So many parts made me laugh. But, the story is deep and believable. (if not hilarious.) I can relate to the Dude in quite a few ways. 1. He's a lazy bum. 2. He likes bowling. 3. He has strange, vivid dreams. 4. He can devote his entire life to revenge. Also, I couldn't understand why Walter was never arrested by the cops for holding up the bowling alley. The plot is easy to follow. It is, like I said, hilarious. I have a new trademark catch-phrase thanks to this movie. If anyone says anything bad to me, I know to say this: "At least I am housebroken." This is a truly great movie. If you have not seen this movie, get the hell off your computer and run to the nearest store and pick up The Big Lebowski 10th Anniversery Edition, it just went on sale. Truly, this movie will be remembered for a millenia to come.

10/10.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - 7/10

Has a number of moments inspiring a lot of awe but is otherwise rather corny and is a bit predictable. Good for a few laughs and a good watch, nonetheless.

Enemy of the state 8/10

Ahead of its time, well worth watching, though one more twist would not have been out of place.

Saw V - 7,5/10

Better IMO than the two last installments, Saw V offers more insight into the story and is bound tighter and is more thought-out than its two predecessors. Soundtrack is also slightly better, the first good remix of the originals IMO. The story is more compelling, the traps quite interesting (though that could be said of all Saw films tbh). Good watch. FAR inferior to the original, though.

Now it's waiting on number six; yes, it's in production!

Death Race 8/10

Not the most cinematically brilliant film ever, but damn entertaining.

The Big Lebowski - 9/10

HAHAHAHA

Great movie that remains very entertaining from beginning to end. One of those gems that doesn't fall into any category but is just unique. Just brilliant :D . You should give it a go... dude ;) .

Pulp Fiction 11/10
The best movie I've seen in quite a while. Tarantino is a genius director who makes excellent use of both flashbacks and foreshadowing details and Samuel L Jackson is awesome as ever. I don't think I could find any flaws in the movie.

I'll agree steadily to that as well. Oh the advantages of the unlimited movie viewers pass.

Now, last movie I saw was Running Scared with paul walker. A true treasure, I'll give it 9/10. It loses a point for the extended ending, I think if it had left be 15 minutes earlier it would have been a masterpiece...I thought it was over when it continued from a darkout some 1:30 seconds later.

Also, The Transporter 3. Horrid, unfortunately. ;) I did very much like the first two, and Jason Statham is a favourite action movie star of mine but he doesn't quite pull it off in TT3. I blame the new director... Plotwise though I think he broke character and softened up a few too many times to be true to the gruff Transporter feel. As well I might add it was quite boring-con at other parts driving without so much as a few lines dialogue between characters. Unfortunately for it, I will deny the 10/10 score I gave The Transporter and 8/10 I gave The Transporter 2 and award it a grim 4/10. Maybe it was the fat man to my right, he smelled like a pleasant mix of seafood and booze. And not the nice kind.

Ironman - 8/10

Quite good effects, and, though it has its cheesy moments near the end, a relatively good storyline (for a comic book movie :D). The movie carries a good amount of awe and the Iranman actor, Downey, has that funky way about him. Good watch, if you like action movies, give it a go :) . Hardly even noticed the soundtrack though, tbh.

Halloween (the remake) - 5/10

I feel I'm being quite generous with that 5/10. The remake expands a lot on Michael's childhood, which is also its undoing. As a child, Michael Myers aka "the shape" is portrayed by the director as a completely different being than in the original. He is mostly shown with his face uncovered, screams a lot, talks, and is portrayed as an actual human turned bad just because of a bad childhood and mistreatment by his parents as opposed to him being evil incarnate. When grown up, he dons an orange papier-mâché mask resembling a jack-o'-lantern along with muddy sandals and bathrobe for a short while which is a quite stylish and an arguably scarier appearance than the original, even if it is completely unlike Michael, but he soon dons his trademark coat and mask and becomes and behaves much more like the classic Myers. Except that he removes his mask and is shown with a quantum of feeling at one point but whatever. The end is also different (for IMO no good reason), and the classic Carpenter piano music theme is *shudders* remixed. Not recommended.

Speed Racer

10/10

Oh lawd, I went there. Basically I really, really enjoyed it. The races were brilliant, it was genuinely funny in parts and had more OH SNAP! moments than I could care to count.

This is one of those movies that makes me want to slap people who didn't like it. Sure it's a kids movie, but it's a good kids movie.

The Time Machine (1960) - 9/10
If there'd be a way to bring back the dead and I had to choose five people, H.G. Wells would be one of them.

Blues Brothers - 10/10
Great music and the most epic chase scene in history.

^ Ayah, you remind me, I forgot to rate that one.

The Dark Knight - 9/10

Hot damn. If you think Jack Nicholson's performance as the Joker was iconic, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Ledger's Joker makes Nicholson's look like a second-rate circus clown, with notably macabre looks and a much more intriguing personality and M.O. Two-Face appears very late and is kind of eclipsed, too, but the movie features an intriguing plot, good effects and at times some pretty good music, too.

Lord of War: 9/10

A very good movie about a Ukrainen imigrant (very good acting by Nickholas Cage) and his start in arms dealing to the point in which he lost everything.
