OK so i finally got 3dsmax. I want to render. i tried a little bit of rendering. but it looks to normal. the model is gray, the background is gray. nothing special. I want to have white floor under my model that shows shadow OR like mirrory reflecty effect. just like these

OK never mind i did some more research. now i know how to get that nice shadow. but still if anyone could help me with the reflections that would be nice. ALSO can someone help me apply tga or skins files onto my 3d objects in 3dsmax. i look at the material editor and it's not the same as in gmax.

Mind sharing it? I'd rather like to know as well.

with skylights and light tracers you get shadows
- you find the skylights in the "lights" menu on the top of the right bar
- you find light tracers when press F10 and click on "Advanced Lightning"

Don't forget. you also need a plane under your model. by going to create/ plane/ and change it's length and width to at least 10,000 so it's big. then give it a white diffuse texture in the material editor.

Now any one can Please tell me how to apply my textures. when i import a w3d object the model does not have a skin on it even when the skin file is in the same folder. and if i want to change the texture skin in the material editor i can't browse for the .tga files. Please help this is really important.

Does the renderer work with shaders that most C&C3 units have?

no, because they are hardware shaders and it's a software renderer.

you just have to let 3ds know where the textures are ;) Also you don't have to use the material editor everytime you want to add textures :dope: you can simply click directly on the texture file and drag it to the model it self :/ As a bonus, that will tell 3ds max where you keep all your textures :read:
