Took about 3 hours to model, rig, and animate and about 4 hours to render (I have a laptop with 512 RAM :P). It's made with Maya. Obviously no textures.

Dunno why I made it, obviously I ran out of things to do.

Speed painted his face. Then I got bored so I randomly made some beard and put in a Shoop-Da-Whoop mouth (cause I didn't feel like actually painting it). Turned out to be mildly humorous.

Took about 1 to 2 hours I'd say.

Definately gonna add a top hat and a monocle for no apparent reason. (Although I'll prolly draw in the mouth at that point to).

Star Wars School Logo Project

It's old, but due the amount work put into it, it's pretty awesome.

Some things you should know before watching:
- It's a school project that I (as well as my somewhat worthless partner, who sat there texting people all period) made in 6 weeks.
- It had to incorporate the school, the school's digital media logo, as well as the digital media teacher.
- A lot of the songs, and voiceclips were taken from the movie. A few images and video clips are from the movie as well.
- A new school is under construction.

That should be enough, go watch it, I think for 6 weeks of work, it's pretty cool.

I think the texture is pretty shitty, only spent about 3-4 hours one it. Model's also pretty basic, spent about 5-6 hours on it. Not much on the material either, minor amounts of bump-mapping and nothing else. Paticle systems took about an hour to set up. The sea is just a default sea texture on a dynamic surface. Overall 9 hours, may inprove it in the future. (especially the texture and material. Tex needs more detail, and material needs some specular highlights, dynamic lighting, and some reflectivity).

Huh, just noticed I forgot to turn on shodowing.... oh well.

Fully animatable at the moment, I'll might do so some time.

Model for the ZH mod Final hour.

Weird big Transport copter thing with 3 machine gun / autocannon type things.

It's mainly a test render for lighting and bloom effects. It also shows off a mordel of a space probe I made. The model itself is actually only half-textured at the moment, but I could you can tell from the overwhelming effects and low quality.

I pumped out the batch render when I was off to dinner. The camera was manually keyed, so if you noticed that it moves at different speeds, it's because of that.

Here's some closer renders:

I might post the original sketch of the probe when I have the time.

Some of these are pretty old, some are incredibly childish, others pretty awesome. Pretty sure the concept sketches for the space probe model and the big chopper model are in there.

Perhaps a touch cartoony for a mod, but I absolutely love the flame animation! Seriously impressive.

Good work Nergized!

Well I obviously modeled with a Generals-like style in-mind. The flame animation is nothing impressive; it's a default Maya flame particles with a few tweaks.

I think that's what I was going for when I originally drew the concept. Although it didn't really cross my mind while I was modeling.

It seems a lot slower on my comp because it's running in slow-mo. :P (Maya eats nearly all my 512 RAM)

Should the flame be casting shadows?

Dr HaxX's Photo Dr HaxX 11 Feb 2008

Yes. Fuel that has JUST ignited is very dense, and causes light (as in not heavy) shadows in low level lighting.

It's more original looking than most of the flame tanks I've seen so far. I like it. Great job on the model and animations. Your labour paid off.

Sure, go for it, I would love to see this in action (in a game).

Oh, I also added a really cool and old school project of mine.

Read the description in the original post for further information.

Though I wasn't as skilled back then, due to the massive amount of time put into this (6 weeks), it turned out really awesome.
