Well a Beta anyways.

So far so good. Seems they ripped off a few features from FF and Flock but overall it looks good. It passes webstandard tests, Seems to be fast, haven't faced any issues so far. Only time will tell how good IE8 is but for now all i can say is that things are looking up.

Note: This will overwrite your previous IE so install at your own risk. And remember its still a beta.

Edit: Windows update website doesn't work on default setting. you have to select IE7 mode for it to work.

Edit2: The world as we know it is coming to an end. The damn thing actually passed the Acid 2 test.

Anyone who is an FF fan because this will finally force everyone to stop making sites that are "Designed for IE". You might not like IE but IE development are more beneficial for FF then Harmful.

It seems pointless to me, and also I was useing IE7 not long ago as I just got a new PC and hadn't installed FF. My Firewall (Zone Alarm) told me that MS was trying to monitor what sites I was looking at through IE. Now that pissed me off

Yes indeed they are - it was like reading the release notes for Firefox 2. Ridiculous. Out of curiosity, has anyone bothered to try it out, or is it really not worth it at all?

I've been happy with Firefox for a long time. Since it was 0.7 or 0.8 perhaps. I think it was called Phoenix, then firebird. Plus I can't use IE since I'm on Linux most of the time. :) I really wish gtk-webkit would become stable and some alternative browsers would support it (looking at you Ephiphany Browser [Gnome browser] :)).

Although I'm not going to use IE8 nor have I tried IE7, but I've read it crashes a lot like any other Microsoft software. They should just stick with what they're good at making: Office Suite (usually good, imo; although OOo isn't bad either), and keyboards/mice. :P

right, IE8 sucks.
A) buttons on webpages, randomly move about when your sursor goes near them.
B) Pages keep going back to the top when your trying to scroll down.
C) It says "You have opened a new tab" when you open a new tab. *Insert no shit sherlock macro here.*
D) Any thing CSS or Table seems to move left or right a bit when your hover the cursor on it.
E) when you try and select text it will randonly place the cursor somewhere else on the page.
F) Posted Image

At first I didnt think it was too bad, but the more I use it the more I hate it.
*back to FF*

I've never been a fan of the old IE. The new IE just made me switch completely to FireFox, aside from better extensions(<3) the IE 7 was also slower than the old IE and FF.

apart from the "standards" (if you can really call them that) i much prefer IE6 than 7 or 8 (of course i prefer FF over IE6, that goes without saying :P)

Come on. Enough with the IE bashing. Its not bad at all. -_- I have used IE for years now and never had a problem ?I couldn't EASILY fix. Everything Seren complained about I found fixes to. Such as blank tabbing, set it to your home page or another page then. I have my blank tabs set to google by default. Its not that hard people. Stop bashing it. Please. Do something better with your time. For the sake of my sanity.

For once I wasn't being biased, I even said that at first I didnt think it was too bad.
