Nicely done, mate, very nicely done! I'm not sure what the part on the front is, but still, nice. And you learned to render onto transparency! Do that with the spider and I'll do that sig for you...

just keepin' my topic updated.

recently picked up carmageddon 2 again, one of the most entertaining gore-fest race games of the ninety's |8 since the thing is so damn modable I thought of making my own vehicle and putting it in game. the modelling part is done, now for the skinning, boning and all that boring stuff that I don't even know how to do. also, it's not very detailed but that's because of a rather stupidly low poly limit that causes crashes when exceeded.

the gun from the contest 8|

lore: a small shotgun designed for combat in rooms and corridors. the original case design of the MP7 was used for its compactness and overall handy curves. this shotgun has a lot of features and an equal amount of disadvantages; for starters, it's a short-barrelled shotgun that fires huge rounds, the design is not built to have any kind of magazine or built-in magazine so specially designed clips are clicked on both sides of the gun. when the user has fired his shot, he/she takes another round and puts it in the firing chamber. these elements contribute to the gun being a highly-destructive, slow to-reload close-quarter weapon, only to be used by professional users of the thing. it has a rail to mount scopes in conjunction with a specifically designed silencer that grants a lot less spread and a high accuracy. the gun is still pump-action as the shells still have to be ejected due to limited space for machinery inside the gun's casing.

lore: a VERY heavy assault and artillery platform featuring just one innovative gun: the cannon either loads large armour-piercing HE shells OR a very special shell. this special shell is in fact a one-time-use small electromagnetic rail propulsion device with a sludge lodged into it. as rail guns offer great power but little re usability, this shell is low-cost and still very powerful. however, the complexity, power usage and relative cost of the shells makes the rate of fire very low. also due to the complex mechanics involved the platform needs to deploy when using the railshell configuration, rendering it immobile. the railshell has a very long range and can, in fact, pierce through terrain and buildings as easily as through enemies. this makes it a very effective piece of artillery as it can shoot from behind mountains and through multiple targets if micromanaged correctly. normal configuration allows it to be an effective, if somewhat slow assault unit with tremendous firepower and splash damage. and yes, it's an epic unit. the small tube next to the main gun is an advanced targeting system for the railshell.

only criticism is that (only from the logical point of view) the threats would make more sens at the back and the wheels at the front but hey...
